If you check out the classic 1959 western “Rio Bravo,” there is a scene where Walter Brennan goes off script with a live weapon and badly rattles John Wayne. It looked so good that Howard Hawks, the director, kept it in the final cut.
It’s been busy, as I get ready for a rail conference in San Diego next week. Went out today for my 69th birthday to my favorite local sushi bar and splurged a bit.
Billy Joel’s “Innocent Man” disk was a good look at the past. When I first saw the “Uptown Girl” video, I was shocked. I never thought I would live long enough to see the music of the Four Seasons satirized.
Billy's 400 pound frame eventually did him in, but he had the fastest mouth in the business.

These girls and their bass man came out of George "Shadow" Morton's shop in the Brill Building. It's from early 1964.
OR...turned into a Broadway Show that the original “Jersey Boys” could not have afforded to attend! :-)
