I'm kidding obviously. In real combat the notion of "fair" is stupid. A "fair fight" means a fair chance of losing and when it is life or death - I would want and I want our military personnel to have every "unfair" advantage we can create for them...
I am reminded of the scene in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” when Harvey Logan (Richard Kiel) challenges Butch for gang leadership via a knife fight. Paul Newman waves his hands and approaches Logan saying, “Hold on, hold on. This fight doesn’t start until Harvey and me agree on the rules.”
“Rules?? In a knife fight?!” yells Logan.
At which point Butch is close enough to successfully kick Harvey in the groin and win the knife fight.
