The Department of Justice (DOJ) released a former FBI informant from a confidentiality agreement, allowing him to testify before Congress about what he saw while undercover during a former President Barack Obama-era deal where a Russian-backed company bought a uranium firm with mines in the U.S.
Congressional committees have previously tried to interview the informant, whose name has yet to be released, due to the fact he was undercover for around five years, working to get information on Russias efforts to grow its atomic energy business in the U.S.
DOJ spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores told The Hill a deal was reached, clearing the informant to talk to Congress for the first time almost eight years after he first went undercover for the FBI.
As of tonight, the Department of Justice has authorized the informant to disclose to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as one member of each of their staffs, any information or documents he has concerning alleged corruption or bribery involving transactions in the uranium market, including but not limited to anything related to Vadim Mikerin, Rosatom, Tenex, Uranium One, or the Clinton Foundation, Flores said.
On Tuesday morning, two House chairmen announced a probe which will dig into new reports about Russian efforts to influence the Uranium One nuclear purchase that gave Russia control of roughly 20 percent of Americas uranium.
The Republican chairmen of two House committees announced Tuesday theyre launching a probe into the Uranium One deal and the Obama-era DOJs investigation of the deal.

I expect to see this on CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN today for sure.... Nah, who am I kidding...
Don’t worry, the committee’s will take the testimony in Secret, behind closed doors. Everyone on the committee will get their check and the case will be closed.
Is this going to walk in with a hood over head. Is he today version of Joe Valache?
He’s allowed to disclose this information to a lot of people including “one” staff member. Are those people allowed to share it with ANYONE?
If not, it appears the DOJ wants a lot of possible leakers.
Surely they will wait for this testimony. Who is in a hurry? Then they will make sure this information will only be available as evidence if he testifies at later trials. Then he disappears. No other reason for the AG to fight this issue.
They say that Fort Marcy Park is lovely this time of year.
Please do not let him/her book any flights on commercial/government/private airplanes. Please! Also stay way from Ft. Marcy Park.
2 weeks minimum til testifies, probably more
This is a positive for Jeff. Now Jeff, how about getting the FBI to co-operate with Congress.
Just heard on Fox that DJT himself released the informant, not the DOJ..
A lot of RATs and RINOs are suddenly going to find reasons to visit nations that have no extradition treaties with the U.S. or visit their embassies.
I hope I am wrong but I am not sure that this testimony will reveal much that isn’t already known.. I think that if this witness has significant evidence to report he would have already fell victim to an unfortunate accident.
The DOJ is one of the executive branches arm. So he just nudged the subordinates
Deadman Walking!
You got that right.
The evil Loretta Lynch testified behind closed doors last week and all that produced was "Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch met with the House Intelligence Committee behind closed doors Friday morning, as the committee probes Russian interference in the 2016 election and any ties to Trump associates."
When this informant testifies the headlines will be similar: "Informant testifies before intel committee amid probe into Russian interference in 2016 elections and Trump's possible collusion with Russians". That will be the last we hear, and when anyone is asked about any of it the response will be "we can't comment on ongoing investigations".
Someone better alert the Park Service employees at Fort Marcy Park......
“Just heard on Fox that DJT himself released the informant, not the DOJ..”
Interesting...
