... and the evidence for this claim, that the “dirty work” was not done by this Republican who so generously shared his oppo research with Democrats would be what?
I’m in no mood to protect anyone who had anything to do with this, and I’m surprised at how many FReepers are willing to just gloss over a Republican turncoat helping Democrats just because he lost in the primaries to Trump.
What possible reason would a Republican have, for sharing such a thing with the Clinton campaign? Is there an honorable explanation that’s on the up and up? No, there is not.
FBI once planned to pay former British spy who authored controversial Trump dossier
Steele, 53, began his Trump investigation in June 2016 after working for another client preparing a report on Russian efforts to interfere with politics in Europe.U.S. intelligence had been independently tracking Russian efforts to influence electoral outcomes in Europe.
Steele was hired to work for a Washington research firm, Fusion GPS, that was providing information to a Democratic client. Fusion GPS began doing Trump research in early 2016, before it hired Steele, on behalf of a Republican opposed to the businessmans candidacy. The firm declined to identify its clients.
I'm just repeating what's been reported. This article was published in February 2017, when the political motivations were different from today. You can make your own judgment about the veracity of the source.

Hey Regulator. How do you “know” that the original Republican who hired FusionGPS “shared” anything with the Democrats?
The work product was his, and his alone since he paid for it.
Fusion GPS could not share it with the Dems unless the original payee okayed it.
That is where we need more information. Until then, all your comments are sheer speculation. I’d love to get your ass in court. You’d lose in about a minute.
