The Golden State Warriors, who are based in Oakland, Calif., used their home game on Wednesday night to host what they called “LGBTQ Pride Night.”
In a pregame news conference, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, Warriors coach Steve Kerr told parents how they could use the night to instruct their kids on what their view should be towards LGBTQ—which stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning.
“Maybe if you’re coming to the game tonight and your child says, ‘What’s that?’ explain it to them,” Kerr said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. “Explain to them the importance of loving the person next to you, no matter who they are and where they come from. They’re human beings. We’re all human beings. We’re all in this together.”
“I’m really encouraged by my kids’ experience in California growing up, just in terms of acceptance,” Kerr said. “It seems like our young generation is learning more about it. We all just are who we are. We’re all individuals, and what makes our country great is our diversity. The fact that we can respect each other, work together and embrace each other, I think it’s an important night for us, and we welcome everybody in the LGBTQ community.”
“I’m proud to be a part of an organization and a region, an area, that really embraces diversity,” Kerr said. “I don’t think there has ever been a more important time in our country to respect the person next to you regardless of race, creed, color, sexual preference, sexual identity.”
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the president of the Warriors is gay: “The Rick Welts, who became the first prominent American sports executive to come out openly as gay in 2011, has served as Golden State’s president for the past six years.”
For years I’ve refused to watch certain entertainers, shows 2 years ago I added the NFL. Now Disney, NBA.......
First the NFL and now the NBA . . . Role models for kids, NOT . . . Is this some the best society has to offer.

Tell them about their severe mental illness, short life spans, life ending diseases, other STDs, alcoholism, drugs, depression, high rates of suicide, violence, etc. You can not put a positive spin on this lifestyle no matter how much you try.
Steve Kerr and Popovich of San Antonio are two NBA coaches who’ve spent a fair amount of time trashing President Trump.
Kerr’s really using his position as a coach to preach about matters few fans probably care to hear about from him.
If someone is questioning, you can be sure that they’ll steer them into the wrong direction.

I’ve lost all respect of Steve Kerr with his vocal stance on ‘issues of the day’. Used to hold him in high regard as a contributing member of the great Bulls teams of the 90s. No more...Shut up and Sing! and if I recall his history, his dad was killed by the middle eastern muslim scum....

Did the players and coaches line up front to back and give a performance of the French Mistake for the fans?
A little surprised at the placement of the NFL in 2008-09. With Obama running in 2008, I would have expected the NFL to be left of center, say half way between the dividing line and where the NBA is slotted. As it is, it would appear the NFL has made a beeline to catch up to the NBA.
