Mussorgsky was a heavy drinker, and he may have heard that arrangement during one of his binges.

Yeah, hauling those magazines can wear ya out especially when you aren’t used to it. You’ll be knocking it out with no problems before ya know it.

Tell your son “a belated Happy Birthday!” from me. :-)
Y’all gonna save the world tonight? LOL

The brood have driven me up the walls today but have finally quieted down. A nasty cold front is coming through tonight and the wind was roaring all day. I guess it’s the sound that stirs them up but whatever it is, it had them bonkers today.

Now for a little relaxation and Halloween music posting. Whew!

My dad made a tape of all these Spooky Classics and played them full blast on the Altec’Lansing Voice of the Theater Speakers on Halloween. The neighborhood ROCKED!

Here’s what I remember was on the reel-to-reel Halloween tape:

Danse Macabre (Saint-Seans)
Night on Bald Mountain (Moussorgsky)
Symphony Fantastique 4th and 5th Movements(Berlioz)
Totentanz (Lizst)
Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (Bach)
Funeral March of a marionette(Gounod)
Mephistopheles Serenade HA HA HA HA(Gounod)
Dance of Phryne from Faust(Gounod)
Valse triste(Sibelius)
Masquerade (Khachaturian)
In the hall of the Mountain King(Grieg)
And probably some other good stuff!

Bach: Toccata & Fugue in D minor

Hannes Kästner at the organ of the St. Thomas church in Leipzig. Bach played at this church and on this Schulke organ, although it has been renovated over the centuries.

Aaaaaah, had to work today and is stuck doing homework tonight? Bummer.

No snow for us this weekend but it’ll be wet and cold. What stinks is the cruise-in at the military museum tomorrow probably won’t happen. That part of the day’s event was supposed to be a money-raiser for the museum. We’re going up there any way and will give a donation regardless of Baby staying in the garage. I hope others will donate as well while they’re there.
