Most members of Houston Texans kneel for National Anthem in protest of owner

SEATTLE — Only 10 active Houston Texans players stood for the national anthem with the rest of the team kneeling down.

The Texans had indicated there would be some type of protest following comments by owner Bob McNair. McNair has issued two apologies and is attempting to explain his comments after a story in ESPN The Magazine this week revealed that he said "we can't have the inmates running the prison" during a meeting of NFL owners about players who protest by kneeling during the national anthem.

There were reports the Texans would consider staying in the locker room for the anthem, but the entire team took the field about 10 minutes before kickoff. When the anthem started more than half the active roster took a knee.

The majority of Seattle's defensive line continued to sit as it has for most of the season.

Give those ten players a bonus and fire the rest of them.

Do they still play a game after this show . . . or is the show now the game?

Childish action by childish persons. Get real jobs and quit playing games. I for one have quit supporting their actions. NFL can go to Hades!

Time to start hiring replacement players. Any more appeasement ant the NFL will be officially be the protest league. The fans that don't leave should boo on every play, too.

Most of both teams protested and the fans stayed to watch? Does any one know how full the stadium was?

So...weve gone from support for BLM, to protesting Trump, to protesting football team owner. Law of Diminishing Returns.

these vastly-overpaid guys insult our country and us fans by this ridiculous, childish misbehavior, even though they get paid millions of dollars and are given all sorts of special recognition and adoration....

while the Israeli athletes endure open bigotry in Abu Dhabi this week, and what do they do? they openly and proudly sing their national anthem when their “hosts” refuse to even play it for them

the two groups of athletes are exactly the opposite, our “American” athletes embarrass us and our country, while the Israeli athletes bring credit to themselves and their little nation.

WISH, I am wishing, that our spoiled-rotten American football players who are doing this krap to us... will learn from the Israeli athletes just how lucky they are to live in a free country where they are honored and rewarded for their skills

Just as I suspected, the brothers have decided they control the game, and seem to be more interested in that control than in playing.

I don’t care what kind of union rules are in force, these players are over.
