Didn’t Jiveanka push for hiring Manafort?

I thought Manafort was widely acknowledged in DC as being the expert on convention delegate management, and was hired for that reason alone.

Manafort was released once the delegates were secured and the campaign moved to the general phase.

Evidently, they weren’t unnoticed. They had been investigating him and decided to not press charges. Perhaps they held back to see if they could entrap a bigger fish at a later date?

Paul Manafort Resigns from Trump Campaign

Manafort had increasingly come under fire over his past lobbying work for pro-Russian Ukrainian oligarchs — which was fundamentally at odds with Trump’s boasts about being free from moneyed interests — and for the sloppy nature of the Republican National Convention, which Manafort oversaw.

In recent days, Manafort had lost the confidence of Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and one of his closest advisers, and other members of Trump’s family, according to a source close to the campaign. Kushner had once been a major backer of Manafort and was instrumental in his elevation — and the downfall of Corey Lewandowski, Trump's former campaign manager.

Irony . . . The left thought they could destroy Trump with Manafort . . . Trump ended up with Steve Bannon.

As they say . . . the rest is history

” It is up to the campaign to decide who they hire.”

He was a volunteer.

Could be. With all the alternative theories floating about, one is that Manafort was a Clinton/Obama (FBI/CIA?) mole all along. I sort of doubt this at the moment, based on his indictment, but if he gets completely off the hook later for what does appear to be serious financial fraud, you’d have to wonder.

Thanks. I didn't see that post when I made my post.

What would be an interesting counter-argument to make is that if Manafort is the key, then based on his limited involvement in the convention delegate management process, it would be surmised that he colluded with Russia to influence Trump beating back Ted Cruz at the convention, not Trump beating Hillary Clinton in the general election.

Both are ridiculous arguments to make, but the convention fight would be more in Manafort's sphere of influence.

The new meme should be "Manafort colluded with Russians to defeat Ted Cruz, not Hillary Clinton!"

I wouldn’t rule out anything, but being a CIA op is way down on my list. They either didn’t have anything on him before or they decided to hold off on charging him until a golden opportunity like showing up in the Trump campaign.

Ben Shapiro???
He’s been on fire debating the libtards lately- is that the same guy?

I suspect he was tryna jump on little miss what’s her name hottie pants and got caught up in her spin. If I remember correctly he stopped short of outright lying for her, but still got involved too much to the point he had to resign.

It might have been that they really thought Trump would lose to hilLIARy and so wanted to help him to win the primaries.

I don’t see this as an FBI responsibility.

I see no obligation on their part whatsoever.

Its more like Trumps people swallowed their doubts and concerns about Manaforts foreign lobbying and went with the best soldier they could find to steer the campaign through a particularly contentious time where the leading candidate was being sabotaged by his own party

This is Manafort’s real “ crime”
He defeated the uniparty by securing Trump’s nomination

‘Didn’t Jiveanka push for hiring Manafort?’

A less than 60 second search would reveal that Roger Stone recommended Manafort. But Cruz gets the ultimate credit. If he hadn’t been unabashedly poaching delegates that Trump had already won, Trump wouldn’t have asked Stone what to do about it, and Stone wouldn’t have recommended Manafort.

It is traditional for the FBI to give a heads up to any Presidential campaign that hires people with serious national security or legal issues under investigation.

Seems valid to suspect that perhaps they wanted Manafort on the campaign precisely because he was under investigation and presumably his communications were being monitored, ergo no heads up with any “concerns” as has traditionally been the case with other Presidential campaigns in the past.

“”He is a traitor to the United States of America and hopefully will no longer be on Earth much longer. I used to love his writing back in the day but now he is dead to me. He is a liberal who was despicable to Trump and Corey.””

Your opinion of course but a bit much, don’t you think? “hopefully will no longer be on the earth much longer”... You would think he was a card carrying progressive from that ridiculous statement or at least a terrorist!

You have obviously forgot the destruction Ben and his girlfriend did to Corey. They destroyed a good man and we ended up with Manafort which you see how that turned out. Sorry but Ben is worse then a terrorist. He singlehandedly handed the Presidency to Muller.
