The driver who killed eight people in the Manhattan terror attack was interviewed by feds in 2015 – but officials didn’t have enough information on him to open a case, according to a new report.

Authorities with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations Unit had probed Sayfullo Saipov about his possible ties to suspect terrorists, ABC News reported Wednesday.

Saipov’s name and address was listed as a “point of contact” for two men whose names were on the Counterterrorism and Criminal Exploitation Unit’s list after they arrived in the US from “threat countries,

How many times must we see this before POTUS and/or Congress forces the feds to do their duty to the US? Mueller ignored warnings from Russia, Saudi Arabia and England about the Boston Bombers. There were ignored warnings about the Ft. Hood shooter. The FBI failed to interview the garage buddies of the San Bernardino shooter so they and mama are free as birds. The list goes on and on. How about instead of a watch list, we have a to do list.

Just until a terrorist attacks an elite private school where the Congesscritter’s kids go, or Capitol Hill itself.

What’s the point of having a list when the people on the list are free to commit terror? At some point you have to add up your wins and losses and come to the conclusion that what you think is the answer to the problem, is actually wrong and making things worse.

In a war, “officials didn’t have enough information on him to open a case” does not apply-

These are SOLDIERS sans uniforms, subject to immediate capture and prosecution upon interview suspicion.
Capture them all and get rid of them all.

“An unlawful combatant is a person taking part in belligerent acts against a State, while not being part of a regular military force or subsidiary militias.

“Even an individual combatant who is part of a regular military force, and has forfeited his POW status through committing certain illegal acts, is regarded an unlawful combatant. The distinction between lawful and unlawful combatants is intended to uphold and emphasize the basic distinction between combatants and civilians. This distinction is, therefore, complementary to the basic distinction between ‘combatant’ and ‘civilian’....

“The term unlawful combatant originates in World War II. In 1942, a group of German soldiers arrived by submarine at the American West-Coast, disguised in civilian clothes. They were captured by the Americans and brought to justice. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously that: “’The Laws of War distinguished between combatants and civilians, and between lawful combatants and unlawful ones. Lawful combatants are subject to capture and detention as POWs by the opposing military forces. Unlawful combatants are likewise subject to capture and detention, but in addition they are subject to trial and punishment by military tribunals for acts which render their belligerency unlawful.’”

Gitmo??? is this muslime a US citizen now? That could be a constitutional problem. A trial instead in federal court with a death sentence swiftly carried out would be better than playing soccer at gitmo.

There were very good reason for the founders to deny the office of the President to Kenyans from Indonesia.
Or Cubans from Canada.
Or Yemenis from Yemen. Anwar Al-Awlaki (US citizen) has children born in Yemen that are just as eligible to be President as Ted Cruz.

Someone on CBS said citizen and I think she/he then said green card.

Was just looking at that Rumsfeld SCOTUS decision about US citizen enemy combantants. Interesting to see Scalia versus Thomas in the dissent.

There are too many radical muslims to watch.

If they are radical and not yet citizens, deport all of them immediately.

Then there might be enough resources to watch those 0bummer let in and became citizens already.

Was watching the news here in NJ, and a neighbor said the Muslim killer had been hanging around with a couple of other guys for the last few weeks. A few minutes later on the same channel the NY governor is insisting this is a “lone wolf”.

Also mentioned this killer had a wife and child; I guess we’ll be supporting them for the next 50 years...
