Why the slope from toppling Confederate monuments to shunning the Founders is so slippery.

For conservatives who pay attention, the slippery slope isn’t a logical fallacy, but a way of life. In our gloomy predictions, we regularly understate how far society will begin kicking us down the slope once we start sliding. It would’ve been unthinkable for even the most pessimistic anti-divorce activist of half a century ago to predict that the majority of American children would be born illegitimately within a few decades. Anti-euthanasia activists never dared suggest that the Dutch would be so depraved as to begin drugging children into their graves merely because they reported depression. When Vermont was considering legislation providing for civil unions for same-sex couples, not even the sweatiest, most paranoid snake-handler imagined that florists would be financially ruined by the government for refusing to serve customers whose nuptials violated their religious scruples. Yet here we are.

A clown named Jones is running for US Senate in AL against Moore. His add alludes to WBTS, but doesn’t mention the monuments. Just talks about the nation seeming to be divided and he’ll go to DC to work with pols from all the other states. Not a mention of him being the Democratic Party’s candidate. Not a mention of DNC in his sponsorship. Just his name and an ambiguously “uniting message”. Dems know the people know they are toxic.

After dissing the Founders, the next effort will be attempts to mainstream reject the USA’s Constitution which is the legal foundation for protecting our rights and liberty.

“I’m not even arguing against the removal of Confederate statues.”

Yeah, well then enjoy the campaign against the Founders that you see coming, because you’re politically correct and part of the progressive tide whether you realize it or not.

I guess I must be even more paranoid and sweaty snake handler then those these marshmallows know because I predicted it.

All of these things are stuff people told you would happen and you laughed at those stupid hicks secure in the knowledge that you were SO much smarter and that was why those dullards needed you to lead them.

Listen laughing boy, you know why Trump won and the only use I can imagine for NRO on dead tree is to line the litter box?

It is because YOU ARE A BUNCH OF BUBBLEBOYS who only interest is getting invited to your next swanky cocktail party where you can snark about all the people in "Jesus Land".

Eat dirt and DIE!

When all this started the RINOs over at national review mocked Trump for daring to suggest that we were heading down a slippery slope here.

The reputation of the Founding Fathers who did not own slaves is also at risk.

Men like John Adams and Alexander Hamilton deeply compromised their own principles when they agreed “to form a more perfect union” with slave owners and slave states.

This is a great, thought provoking article. The author, Michael Brendan Dougherty, provides a perspective that helps to start to understand how the culture war against the our culture is being carried out.

Thanks for posting this.

Bump to read and think-about later.
