This report clearly reveals a need for educating our youth on the dangerous implications of socialist ideals
In a Halloween tweet thats since gone viral, Donald Trump Jr. jokingly (although who really knows these days?) took the opportunity to impart an important political lesson to his cute little daughter.
Im going to take half of Chloes candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. Its never to early to teach her about socialism. pic.twitter.com/3ie9C0jv2G Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) October 31, 2017
Perhaps he should share his wisdom with millennials.
According to the latest survey from the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, a D.C.-based nonprofit, one in two U.S. millennials say they would rather live in a socialist or communist country than a capitalist democracy.
Whats more, 22% of them have a favorable view of Karl Marx and a surprising number see Joseph Stalin and Kim Jong Un as heroes.
Really, thats what the numbers show.
Millennials now make up the largest generation in America, and were seeing some deeply worrisome trends, said Marion Smith, executive director of the organization. Millennials are increasingly turning away from capitalism and toward socialism and even communism as a viable alternative.
But do they even know what it is?
The survey, which was conducted by research and data firm YouGov, found that millennials are the least knowledgable generation on the subject, with 71% failing to identify the proper definition of communism.
Smith explained that this troubling turn highlights pervasive historical illiteracy across the country and the systemic failure of our education system to teach students about the genocide, destruction, and misery caused by communism since the Bolshevik Revolution one hundred years ago.
Other findings include the belief held by 53% of millennials that Americas economic system works against them, which is the same percentage in the prior study. Meanwhile, 66% of Gen Z, ages 16-20, say the system works for them.
When it comes to the wealth divide, Americans seem to be on the same page, with 80% saying its a serious issue, up from 78% a year ago. They also mostly agree (68%) that the highest earners dont pay their fair share in taxes.
This report clearly reveals a need for educating our youth on the dangerous implications of socialist ideals. Smith said. We will continue to work with educators to build curriculum to address this important need.
Every generation has been really stupid except Gen X who seemed to be conservative right off the bat. Boomers were just as bad as millennial. I hope it will be a phase for them.
This from the generation that needs a safe space, play doh, coloring books, and puppy dogs?
If they’re okay with Stalin today, there is a too good a chance they’ll be alright with Hitler tomorrow.
Morally vacant zombies.
I know a millenial who is socialist leaning commie. Complete ignorance of history.
How many get that today’s government schools are teaching grade schoolers the advantages of socialism and the disadvantages of American values and freedom?
It is also never too late to teach English.
Yes.
Talk to them about Vlad. Lenin, not John Lennon.
Have them do a book report on a few chapters from “The Archepelagio” by Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

Show them some of the old SCTV skits that really nailed Soviet communism.
I loved that show.
The beauty of America is- they are free to go
North Korea if they want hi octane communism
Cuba or Venezuela if they want better weather
Or on “ The Aquariums of Pyongyang”
More good reading about the adventures of living under Stalinism
That’s because all they have been taught is a giant overly simplistic false dichotomy. Capitalism is the progenitor of all things cruel and bad and so it’s rival or competing view - socialism must be the solution as it encapsulates all things kind and good; and it is scientific. That’s about the depth of the average thinking man or woman in the USA of the millennial variety; or don’t think at all as political correctness has all the answers - no need for thinking or speaking.
Boomers bad? I grew up very poor in Okla, had no Heat or AC until 1967, and summers are in the 100s. Winters are freezing cold. We never had enough food or money. Dad drove old cars. I paid my own way through college, grad in 4 years with double major. Husband grad from college in 4 years, chemical engineer, worked ass off for forty plus years at same job. Raised three great kids, paid their way through college. Bought house, never missed payments, never filed bankruptcy. Mowed our own lawn, cooked our own meals MOST of the time, cleaned our own house even windows. Painted our house inside and out. We do our own repairs.
So why ragging Boomers? Everyone we know did pretty much same as us.

EXTREMELY well put!!!
That's why the East Germans built a wall to keep people in, and Trump has to build a wall to keep people out.
Morons.
Not worth your time to even bother discussing some things with certain people at this site. :-)
