I visited Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) and Moscow as a teenager. We viewed Lenin’s body, where the instructions were clear: you cannot have any reaction, just walk through.
On another occasion, we started to laugh and form a grouping/pryamid in Red Square: thoughtful Soviets ran out to remind us this was not okay, please stop. I went there with a group from my school, we were all Westerners living in Europe.
My post may or may not be TMI, but I am totally tired of PC.

IMHO, millennials have lived their short, but whole lives in the socialist/collectivist USA and its education system, with everything funded, for this brief period of history anyway, by utterly massive US debt, in our printed, unbacked Federal Reserve dollars.
Therefore, the socialism we’ve had so far all seems to get paid for, and seems good, so why not just have a lot more of it?
Can’t completely blame them. Lazy parenting and the public education system is bringing this about.
Since the end of the 1960s, social trends, laws and policies against domestic manufacturing and fatherhood caused what you’re seeing. Generations of the more moral young American men have been disrespected along with the immoral ones. Legalization of marijuana will intensify and speed the process of destruction by turning many more young Americans even further to the left.
Many who have claimed to be conservative are no more conservative than Susan B. Anthony, Henry Beecher, Charles Fourier, Elizabeth Cady Stanton or Victoria Woodhull were. Our situation will continue to decay.
There are many pretenders who know how to use outward appearances to get what they want. Neither stoic disposition nor material wealth (see drawing from the increasing piles of government-connected debt) are evidence of proper morality in a person.
The U.S.A. does now resemble Sodom, Gomorrah and several other cities near them in their last active days. Slightly under the surface of the outer imagery of society, many lacking in resources to legally defend themselves—both men and women—are approached, harassed, defrauded, cheated and legalistically robbed. And the vast majority of NGOs are not really charities (re. cities mentioned above).
I’m a Baby Boomer. Neither my generation nor any generation after ours has any higher moral ground to preach from to the young folks, as the rulers of our generation force them to kowtow to this.

Get a real job with a company that receives no income from government at any level, or better yet, develop a successful business that is not dependent on customers with government-derived incomes. Then educate every American generation.

All that borrowing and spending was going on long before they were born. They didn't create the situation. Their elders are the ones who set it up that way, and have let it continue for decade after decade. Can they really be blamed for seeing it as normal and even good?

Better than books, find some one who escaped from the former Soviet Union or its then satellites and have them tell what life was like, and how they escaped, and tell about those that tried but failed to make it alive.
Another analogy, to escape Islam women in some muslim countries prefer to burn themselves alive than live one more moment under Islam ...
