Nothing has changed. My very liberal parents thought nothing of my having to attend a 75% majority black high school in the 1960’s.

It was a nightmare. Basically drunken black men trying to beat up anyone who they felt like every day after school. Back then, there were no police officers on the high school campus unless you called them. The only thing that saved me was a turf war between two black neighborhoods which kept the animals busy most of the time.

My experience of integration in elementary school was a bit different. Everybody got along famously. But then, I was in Charleston SC.
It changed a bit when we moved to Florida. School riots were even predictable. They seemed to always occur the day before a school holiday. The scumbags wanted an extra day off.
