Why Is the Mueller Investigation like the Schleswig-Holstein Question?

I’ve been muddling through the week’s events respecting the special counsel’s activities, trying to provide a clearer road map. And even harder -- trying to do it in a way that doesn’t make it seem more complicated than need be. A friend reminded me of Lord Palmerston’s observation: “The Schleswig-Holstein question is so complicated, only three men in Europe have ever understood it. One was Prince Albert, who is dead. The second was a German professor who became mad. I am the third and I have forgotten all about it.”

Actually, it may be simpler than that, though not much more.

A good place to start is with Conrad Black. If you recall, he, too, was, was the victim of overzealous prosecution which destroyed his publishing empire and resulted in his serving jail time before much of the case was tossed on appeal.

After detailing the media’s uneasiness in the blowback disaster of the “Russian collusion with Trump” nonsense, he observes:

“A good place to start is with Conrad Black.”

Conrad Black is always a good place to start.

Greatly enjoyed his history of Canada:

He’s not Paul Johnson, but he’s as close as you’ll get post-Reagan .

Hillary Clinton is a lying, thieving, bullying, cheating, dirty little snot who freezes up like a clothing store mannequin.

I’d go visit her if she was in prison.

I’d tell her, “I have a file here you can use to saw your way out.”

Then I’d give her a paper file with FBI written on it in crayon.

And then I would laugh and laugh.

That’s great but in REAL life there will be “flips” and an indictment against Trump.

Any that can’t see that here are closing their eyes.

Sessions was a great pick /s

And so many liked him here before he was picked. I see no reason why.

If only Flynn was a Democrat, then they would have certified, as was done for Hillary, that he meant no harm so no foul.

The DNC is dedicated to the destruction of the not-we ... I wish the Republicans would pay back in kind. The DNC should be reduced to a wasteland of ruined careers and broken dreams. They are the enemy.

Funny how on our side of the aisle ever flips, eh? On the Democratic side, they just stonewall forever.

Remember, revenge is a dish best served cold. In the end Democrats will be utterly destroyed. Wait for the end.

Pressure is building to demand that Trump fire McCabe and Mueller and replace Sessions and Rosenstein. I understand the frustrations of those who are calling for such actions. Someday in the future, some or all of those actions might have to be taken. Someday, but not just yet. If the President removed them now, every media flake would be screaming Saturday Night Massacre and cover up. As the facts leak out, discrediting Mueller and his Clintonite crew, steam is building against them. For the moment, why not concentrate on reducing regulations, increasing employment, getting more nominations confirmed, moving a moribund economy back on track, and closing the borders (the importance of which was underlined this week by the horrible massacre in New York City). In the meantime, it appears that Monafort and Gates’ lawyers seem well equipped to pitch battle and I expect Vin Weber’s and Skadden Arps’ are, too. When the extent of the perfidy becomes clear and the first objectives met -- and the midterms are over -- it may be the right time to act. More simply put, I don't feel equipped to second-guess a man who is such an artful strategist.

Especially when the people who pitched the grenade in his direction are watching it bounce back.

Sound advice.

You are right. Mueller starts small(Manafort, Papadopulos, with staff that has nothing to do with Russia collusion)and when Mannafort , Papadopulos received signal that President will not pardon them, then will be a full blown of investigation on President(Mannafort and Papadopulos wil vomit all kind of dirty stuff) . Unfortunately Mr President has not too much support in Congress and Senate the way Bill Clinton had.It is time about that Mr Session to stop Muller and designate a special counsel for uranium business.

You’re assuming they have, “all kind of dirty stuff”. That’s a bit of a stretch at this point, don’t you think? Or are you really some NSA/DIA person that knows everything and might even make up some stuff.

It is an anticipation of the possible scenario. The special counsel was designated for Russia collusion with Trump campaign investigation and so far end up indicting Mannafort and Papadopulos for money laundering , wire transfer, lying to FBI. That has nothing to do with Russia and Trump collusion. What is next? I have been exposed my theory and how to solve that. What is your?I could be wrong.

What you say is plausible, especially in DC.

But, I’m thinking and HOPING, that the President is fully aware of what is going on. Not so much because he has someone, inside, on the Special Counsel, but because he’s been briefed on everything, already. Basically, he knows where the bodies are buried. And with the clinton’s, that may not be that far from the truth.

But, Manafort wasn’t there that long and was brought in because he was some kind of fixer. Is it possible that he wasn’t all that open about the work he did with, and for, clinton, obama, pedestal, uranium one, etc etc? And when that was finally discovered, he was shown the door? So, if there is any dirt, is there a chance that he has some of it? Yes. But, with as many leaks as there are and have been, I don’t think he has anything that great.

As for Papadopolous, like anything else, there’s a chance he may have been in a room. But, unlikely. An unpaid volunteer isn’t going to get all that close to anyone. And, from someone that is in law enforcement, if he was that good a “cooperating witness”( i.e. snitch), he never would have been indicted and arrested. They would have let him work off his charge and we wouldn’t have found out about anything until Judicial Watch did a FOIA, 10 years from now.

I am confident that President is aware of what is going on. He is a smart man. What I do not like is the special counsel investigation so far. If we look back, the special counsel investigation for Bill Clinton start with Whitewater and end up with Monika Lewinsky. On the other hand it is possible that Mueller investigation to end up with a deadly blow to the actually corrupt democrats leaders.
