With the election just a day away, Democrat Ralph Northam holds a five-point edge over Republican Ed Gillespie in the close race to succeed Virginia’s Democratic governor, Terry McAuliffe.

The GOPe is not bringing it home. Maybe Northern Virginia, which is really a big government adjunct to DC is just too powerful or the stay away from Gillespie group is dragging the GOP down.

With the sewer around Washington extending into northern VA and with polls indicating such a close race, it looks like a longshot. Its hard to beat Dems in a close race as they can manufacture votes as needed.

Also, you have the case of Obama “seeding” thje entire country with third world immigrants and illegals who vote and vote Democrat and the educational and main stream media pushing leftist agendas.

Of course, the Idiots in the GOP Congress do not help with their continual failure to enact anything that helped Trump get elected.

Don’t the other polls show Gillespie running away with it?

There are a couple of polls that show Gillespie up by around two points. Fox polling is notoriously bad. A poll out last week had all three Republican candidates up by 2-4 points.

Well, to the extent that polls matter at all, this is a Fox poll. Everyone should get out and vote regardless, but there is a contingent that says that Gillespie is the ultimate GOPe and they won't vote for him, They might be the crucial factor putting the Rat on top.

Rasmussen has it tied; another Optimus poll has Gillespie up by three. Who knows? Interesting if Northam wins on the strength of the vote from the felons that crook McAuliffe pardoned.

the WashPost poll done before the 2013 election had Terry McAuliffe up by 12 points but he only won by 2.5 points
