An early draft of former FBI Director James Comeys statement closing out the Hillary Clinton email case accused the former secretary of State of having been "grossly negligent in handling classified information, newly reported memos to Congress show.
The tough language was changed to the much softer accusation that Clinton had been extremely careless in her handling of classified information when Comey announced in July 2016 there would be no charges against her.
The change is significant, since federal law states that gross negligence in handling the nations intelligence can be punished criminally with prison time or fines.
Spokesmen for the FBI and Clinton did not immediately return phone calls or emails seeking comment. The draft, written weeks before the announcement of no charges, was described by multiple sources who saw the document both before and after it was sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee this past weekend.
There is evidence to support a conclusion that Secretary Clinton, and others, used the email server in a manner that was grossly negligent with respect to the handling of classified information, reads the statement, one of Comeys earliest drafts.
Those sources said the draft statement was subsequently changed in red-line edits to conclude that the handling of 110 emails containing classified information that were transmitted by Clinton and her aides over her insecure personal email server was extremely careless.

“Hillary” and “gross” definitely fits.
So the fix was in! I wonder who had a gander at the memo and recognized the seriousness of this inadvertent foray into truth-telling.
Who conspired to get the charges eliminated.
Who paid Comey off to make that change?
And how much was he paid?
Oh my, isn't that the $50,000 question. Just a hunch on my part, but maybe somebody could look in the 0bama WH.
hannity’s tick tock
Who conspired to get the charges eliminated.
Who paid Comey off to make that change?
My money is on Lynch, who also told Comey to "Call it a matter, and not an investigation"
Gross negligence is the type of thing that gets you fired and clearance revoked... but not Hillary.
(f) Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed...
McCabe, who then went to Lynch, I’ll bet.
And the fact that everyone in the O’muslim treason regime was conducting ‘business’ with Hillary on her illegal private server using pseudonyms, is the reason why all this was covered up.
Barry would probably need to sign-off on something this big.
“So the fix was in! I wonder who had a gander at the memo and recognized the seriousness of this inadvertent foray into truth-telling.”
Well, where it would REALLY get thick is if the people reviewing and editing it were Hillary attorneys, or perhaps John Podesta. Then you’d have a very serious crime (not that we don’t now).
Gross negligence gets you and me sent to prison, but not Hillary.
Special prosecutor time. A Republican.
Someone needs to subpoena Clinton and Comey bank records. Or perhaps the quid went through Marc Elias.
lol. The only way to bring this level of corruption to heel is to have a convention of the states to hold treason trials and hangings on the national mall. Otherwise the people will have to do it.
Most of the swamp voted for Hillary (95% plus), including most of the repukis in congress. That’s called total corruption.
> Who conspired to get the charges eliminated <
I can tell you where. A Tarmac in Phoenix.
