Suspects arrested in the 1983 slaying of a black man in Georgia were angry that he was socializing with a white woman, Spalding County District Attorney Benjamin Coker told CNN.
Timothy Coggins, 23, was found stabbed to death on October 9, 1983, near a high-tension power line in Sunny Side, a town about 30 miles south of Atlanta.
The 34-year-old cold case, which broke in October with the arrest of four men and a woman, was widely believed to be racially motivated, though no suspects or motive had previously been uncovered.
Then-investigator Larry Campbell told the local newspaper at the time that there were bloodstains and tire tracks in the field where Coggins’ body was found. Both his lungs had been punctured, he said.
“He had been worked over with a knife pretty well,” Campbell told the Griffin Daily News. “He had defense wounds where he’d thrown up an arm and so forth.”

Unfortunately for the race baitors (and for all Americans) - that date - 01/20/09 was the date race relations took a huge downturn here in the US.
And of course, this was no accident. It was done on purpose. Not since LBJ has America suffered with a president so intent on creating and increasing racial tensions.

Well they are now, but they were 34 years younger back when it happened. The gal is the mother of one of the white guy pictured to the left of her.
A story about a past event from a cold case in Metro Atlanta on an Oklahoma TV station Web Site. I wonder what the connection might be.
Don't get me wrong. My Mother was born in Oklahoma, and I have relatives still there. I even saw my wealthy and gorgeous 70+ year old Oklahoma cousin at my uncle's funeral earlier in the year. I suppose my connection to Oklahoma while I live in Metro Atlanta made me wonder what the angle of this might be.
