From the presser in the town of the shooting today, DPS rep stated his security guard permit was an UNARMED permit - no gun during duty.
Makes sense. Don’t really need armed security at Schlitterbahn.
But still. Texas DPS would never given him a permit as a non commissioned security officer had the Air Force not screwed up.
However - the original questions still remains. On what basis did the State of Texas deny him a license to carry?
Evidently he was on somebody’s list.
