A lot of people are discounting how much money the obama administration pumped into the DC area including Virginia.
We’re $10+ trillion in debt after 8 years of obama. The money didn’t go to supporting our military, rebuilding our infrastructure, etc. Most of it went to making those inside the beltway wealthy. One state that greatly prospered during the obama years was VA. The democrats basically bought VA off.

IMHO you can’t read too much into the Virginia results.
Washington DC has polluted almost all of Northern Virgina and the liberals there overpower the rest of the state where some sanity still prevails.
The NOVA liberals are going to vote liberal no matter what the issue, no matter who the candidate may be.
If you are keeping the borders open allowing muslims, communists, and third world gangsters into your country you are not “pro-life” and only a liar or an idiot would call you that.
Gillespie mignt be “anti-abortion” but by no stretch of the imagination is he “pro-life” so I am glad he is gone.

Being pro-abortion is now an election-winner in Virginia. NOVA is flooded with DC residents attracted to the lower cost of living, yet they don’t make the connection between their voting patters and why they left their blue state cesspit in the first place.
There’s now no wacko leftist hobby horse issue too extreme for them to run on now. McAuliffe literally got elected by blanketing the airwaves with pro-abortion ads designed to get millennial NOVA socialites out to vote for him and...it worked.
It sucks watching your state go under like this, but I’m glad to have a second home in WV, which is trending the right way. Trump and the NRSC shouldn’t spend another dime here. The state is fools gold the way that Pennsylvania used to be, but with every passing year, it’s going to be harder than the previous year to win in.
Was abortion really an issue in this campaign? From what I understand the candidate for Lt Governor was the one who raised it along with other conservative issues trans, toilets, etc. What was her count ?
How do we even know this is real? The Fake News media says it was a huge victory for the Dems, even downballot, and supposedly even Repub districts elected freaks and minorities to Repub seats - and we just accept the Fake News media reports as gospel?

It is an obvious crime against natural law that politicians can vote to give tax dollars to an entity that turns around and gives that money to the politicians.
Even if this was money given to an organization that does nothing but good things, it is still criminal when politicians steal tax dollars to run their political campaigns.
This is an offense as great as any that Great Britain committed against the American colonists that caused the Revolution.
There is no place for abortionists or abortion-promoting politicians in a civil society. These are murderers for hire, plain and simple.
