I believe that! Originally from Missouri side and have suffered both sides of the never ending road construction.

Bullhead and LHC are WAY different places. They will actually welcome new business, where in Kingman, they will do nearly everything possible to chase them away. Although very slowly, they are changing and its almost to late for it.

Ever wonder why Bullhead and LHC grew as fast as they did?

One other thing. Ever wonder why there isnt a grocery store in GV? Because they will drag the county permits out so long nobody wants to build.

Golden Valley had a population of around 8 to 9 thousand people. Back where I come from, in Iron Mountain MI, they have 3 or 4 grocery stores for a town of about 5 to 6 thousand.

The good Ol cooters want that business in Kingman. Well..not this dude-so do all my neighbors. I go to Bullhead.

I moved to Arizona about five years ago but prior to that spent most of 64 years in Johnson County, Kansas or Platte County, Missouri. Rural Platte is sort of like Johnson County back fifty years or so.

A boyhood buddy of mine and I were visiting last Christmas at his beautiful home in coastal California. We decided that growing up in suburban areas south of Kansas City in the early 60s was probably in the top one percent of places to grow up in time and location. Education, costs, upward mobility, social environment, business opportunity, advancements in healthcare, crime and the like were all so very superior to what we have both seen all over the county and all over the world in first hand visits and knowledge of history.

I have to agree. It was a charmed era and place. Wasn’t until I got older and traveled some that I realized how blessed I’d been to grow up there.

I don’t know enough about the lay of the land to answer your question. I can guess where they have to diverge from US 93 to build a freeway, but I can only guess at what their solution might be.

My point is that if they take the route, or one of the routes, they have laid out, they will end up Northeast of Kingman not that far from where 93 comes up from Phoenix. They will have to do a drastic rock cut from the coyote pass to get around there. As bad, or nearly as bad as up by Boulder City.

This is all politics and the boys from Kingman want that road run to Kingman. OK then, Run the road around the Cerbats to the south and catch the old rt 66 about 5 miles west of town. I-40 makes a jog at Kingman so the directions actually goes south and then west after it passes through the Cerbat Mtns. That way, all they have is nearly a flat fives miles of roadbed to build and two interchanges where there is PLENTY of room to do it. No rock cuts, no removal of any buildings-although some of the cooters from over there will whine and cry about it.
