A former colleague of embattled Alabama Republican Senate Nominee Roy Moore said on Saturday that it was open secret the former judge dated high school girls during the 1980s.
Teresa Jones, who worked with Moore as a deputy district attorney for Etowah County, Ala., from 1982 until 1985, said that it was 'common knowledge' the controversial politician allegedly preferred younger women.
'It was common knowledge that Roy Moore dated high school girls, everyone we knew thought it was weird,' Jones told CNN. 'We wondered why someone his age would hang out at high school football games and the mall ... but you really wouldn't say anything to someone like that.'
Moore has been mired in scandal since the Washington Post reported on Thursday that he had inappropriately touched a 14-year-old girl when he was in his early 30s. The Post also alleges that he pursued sexual relationships with a 16-year-old girl and two 18-year-old females during a stretch in the 1970s.
The age of consent in Alabama is 16 years of age.
Moore, 70, vehemently denies the allegations, saying that he believes the timing of the accusations are aimed at undermining his candidacy. 'In the next few days there will be revelations about the motivation and the content of this article,' Moore said during a Birmingham campaign rally on Saturday.

Seems unlikely to me.Just think of the timing,the explosive nature of the charge ,the fact that we're talking 40 years ago and recent revelations regarding Rat Party stunts.
And remember Harry Reid's smugness when called out about the "Romney didn't pay taxes" thing.When called upon to express regret he proudly proclaimed "he didn't win,did he!"
I'd be willing to bet a lot of $$$ that there's no truth to this.
Just as aside...a few years ago I attended the court hearing in Connecticut in which Michael Skakel was seeking a new trial.I was there the day he testified under oath,something he didn't do during his actual trial.
He blamed *everybody* for his fate.He blamed his lawyer for serving him badly.He blamed "two black guys",the live-in tutor they had and *his own brother* for the murder itself.
The moral of the story? Amoral individuals/groups will,when backed up against the wall,say and do *anything* to escape.
I wonder if Teresa is related to Doug Jones?
I’m not in any way saying that this story is true, but as a separate point, age differences become more important when you are younger. I can’t imagine a mature adult of either sex having a relationship with anyone in high school.
One site said he even went to their high school football games. But did he go to the games for the girls or because he likes football and he was a local "politician".
So any single older man that goes to high school football games is just trying to pick up chicks.

And dating or courting is not the same is being a lecherous creep or stalker, or harasser.
When HIPAA rules first came out, our hospital legal team held a meeting for employees where they solemnly intoned that if an underage teenager was found to be sexually active, it was not reportable, even to the parents, because of HIPAA. Citing the actual law contradicting that was ignored.
The Left doesn't care what anyone does to a girl (see Harvey Weinstein) they only want to damage the opposition.

When I was 19 I dated a 31 year old. I met him when I was 18 by using a fake ID to get into a local club. I wanted to date him then but he had a girl friend.
Flash forward a few months. I’m 19, the girl friend moved back to England, and the drinking age in Alabama was 19. I went back to the club. I made it my business to get to know him better. I was crazy about him. We ended up dating. My dad thought I was too young, my mom didn’t.
We weren’t odd. All the musicians had younger girl friends, even if they were married.
Thankfully mine wasn’t.
Ms. Jones is now an ambulance chaser in Florida. I don’t really think she is very credible. She might be phishing for some clients. JMO.
