Former colleague of Roy Moore reveals that 'everyone knew he dated high school girls...

Full-title: "Former colleague of Roy Moore reveals that 'everyone knew he dated high school girls, and thought it was weird' as he continues to deny claims as a 'politically motivated attack' on his character."

A former colleague of embattled Alabama Republican Senate Nominee Roy Moore said on Saturday that it was open secret the former judge dated high school girls during the 1980s.

Teresa Jones, who worked with Moore as a deputy district attorney for Etowah County, Ala., from 1982 until 1985, said that it was 'common knowledge' the controversial politician allegedly preferred younger women.

'It was common knowledge that Roy Moore dated high school girls, everyone we knew thought it was weird,' Jones told CNN. 'We wondered why someone his age would hang out at high school football games and the mall ... but you really wouldn't say anything to someone like that.'

Moore has been mired in scandal since the Washington Post reported on Thursday that he had inappropriately touched a 14-year-old girl when he was in his early 30s. The Post also alleges that he pursued sexual relationships with a 16-year-old girl and two 18-year-old females during a stretch in the 1970s.

The age of consent in Alabama is 16 years of age.

Moore, 70, vehemently denies the allegations, saying that he believes the timing of the accusations are aimed at undermining his candidacy. 'In the next few days there will be revelations about the motivation and the content of this article,' Moore said during a Birmingham campaign rally on Saturday.

Good Point! I’d forgotten about that. Charles and Diana. To all these folks with such large age differences, how does that work out in retirement, when the husband retires and the wife has 16 years left to work?

Hey Doug,

Did you see the conservative turnout in Virg? People are tired of this crap. They dont want Republicans who do nothing. A republican who doesnt support our values is no better, or maybe worse than a lib Dem.

“Postpone the election. Stick Sessions in there. Get anybody good at Justice (your suggestion is fine)”

Sessions is either on the take or has something worse. GET RID OF SESSIONS. We don’t need more traitorous republicans.

The previously accepted formula for a “best fit” was for the woman to be 1/2 the man’s age plus 7.

LOL I knew my boys had some sort of “best fit” formula they used when dating and they also applied to their sister ;).

This was it :)

Never give up is a noble ideal. And it may end up with the unthinkable -— losing a seat in Alabama. We knew it would happen and we watched it happen in Missouri. Akin’s ego got in the way.

The WashPost did this when it was too late to change. They did it to help steal the seat. The best way to say FU WashPost, is as I have suggested. Can you imagine this seat being the one that allows Schumer to be in control again?

We have to pick the right battles to fight. I feel badly for Judge Moore, but I would feel a whole lot worse if we lost the seat. And the bonus -— get Sessions back in the Senate so someone ferocious goes after those who should be prosecuted.

The possibility of giving up the Senate to Chuck Schumer and control of the committees is absolutely insane. That is worse than anything.

But this is what McConnell and his allies want. This way he retains power and perks, while not having to answer to true conservatives.

So what?

Seriously? You are using Jerry Lee Lewis marrying his first cousin once removed when she was 13 as a rationale??

It was a major scandal. Oh and she was his third wife...

From Wikipedia:

...He followed this with “Great Balls of Fire”, “Breathless” and “High School Confidential”. However, Lewis’s rock and roll career faltered in the wake of his marriage to his 13-year-old first cousin once removed when he was 23 years old.

He had minimal success in the charts following the scandal, and his popularity quickly eroded.

We can fight McConnell. We can’t fight a Dem controlled Senate where they control the committees. That is the battle about which I care most. I would love to see Sessions back in the seat -— the WashPost, Dems, and McConnell don’t want that. I say call off the election.

I respect your opinions, Doug. But I think you are wrong here. We are fighting against the establishment media. Abandoning Judge Moore encourages them to use this tactic more and more.

We have an excellent chance to break the thought that the media cannot be challenged. Judge Moore is still the odds on likely winner in Alabama, as long as he fights.

If he is dumped, the message to every candidate will be “Do not fight the media, they will get you.’

Trump fought the media and won. Judge Moore can do so. He can break the media/Democrat/academia/Hollywood cartel.

Its time we did a major house cleaning, so we can fight the fight that needs to be fought. It will not be pretty, there will be more slander from the left and its allies, as well as from those who claim to be on our side. Cowards need not apply. If this means forming a new party, so be it!

Sessions is owned. He will never be effective at whatever.

Three points:

1. No one here doubts this is a dirty trick—from the Dems, McConnell, or both. Most here doubt the story about a young teen disrobing, etc...

2. I read here that Gadsden Alabama was not rural. Moore went to West Point and not practicing in rural Alabama.

3. 17 is 7 years younger than 24. A lot of difference.

I find it interesting because some here say he was not dating 16, 17 and 18 year old girls, and others say he was but only kissed a couple times. I think he admitted to dating some teen aged girls.

Just amazing that so many feel need to defend that which now and then to most parts of the country except the rural SE was eyebrow raising behavior—there are things that are legal but not appropriate.

I think it would have been far smarter for him to have admitted what he did or did not do, and if he did date 16 or 17 year olds, I wish he would have just said something in the order of, “Times were different back then, probably was not my best smartest move, been happily married for years, etc” and then dropped the subject...

Don’t worry, this is a last gasp of a fleeting nothing burger.

Today, I heard on the radio that Kelly Anne Conway actually said that if Moore had done this, he should drop out of the race immediately (but that he should not be prosecuted through the media). I was shocked, then mightily ticked off that someone as close to the President as she is would enter this obviously politically motivated discussion and say something like that. Why doesn't she just apply for a job at the DNC? Why did she have to say anything at all, which could remotely be used against Moore?

Sorry, I just don’t see anything wrong with a respectable 32 year old dating someone who is 17 or 18?

The inference has been that this person is trying to take advantage of the young female. There is no pattern or proof of that.

Would I be following Washington Post acceptable reporting standards by saying that Mitch McConnell likes little Asian girls, because his wife is 5'3" tall?

I just checked and I could find it at 16 going back to at least 1975 which is a few years before this supposedly happened . It did used to be a lot younger than that but I can’t find the date right now they changed . It’s criminal code 13A-6-70
Not one of these girls has accused him of actually sleeping with them though and the mother said the one was a liar because she couldn’t be talking to him on the phone in her room because she didn’t have a phone in her room .

Getting Sessions in that seat is a good pipe dream, Doug.

Meanwhile, back in Realityville, AL, what are the REAL odds of that ever happening?
