Roy Moore's penchant for flirting with teen girls was "common knowledge" and "not a big secret" around Gadsden, according to some area residents.
The Senate candidate has denied any wrongdoing in the wake of a report from The Washington Post in which four women accused Moore of inappropriate advances - and in one instance, a sexual encounter - toward them when they were teens and he was in his early 30s.
One of the four women claims she was 14 at the time, making her the only one whose claim would represent a legal violation. Moore has said he never met her. A fifth woman came forward this afternoon.
Moore and other Republican leaders have questioned why it took so long for his accusers, now in their 50s, to come forward publicly.
And yet people who lived in Etowah County during that time have said Moore's flirting with and dating much younger women and girls was no secret.
"These stories have been going around this town for 30 years," said Blake Usry, who grew up in the area and lives in Gadsden. "Nobody could believe they hadn't come out yet."
Usry, a traveling nurse, said he knew several of the girls that Moore tried to flirt with.
"It's not a big secret in this town about Roy Moore," he said. "That's why it's sort of frustrating to watch" the public disbelieve the women who have come forward, he said.

Yep, men can be dogs and it’s a parents job to teach their daughters how to navigate the creeps out there.

I'm finding myself conflicted with the belief that Moore is likely a pervert and a scumbag but also hoping that he wins the election, mostly because I so f***ing hate the people who are piling on him.

A pattern of behavior — trying to meet and date high school chicks.

Lock us up and throw away the key for talking to young women as if they are attractive young women, even if they are someone else’s daughter.

As for me, I believe it should not matter if it’s true or not. It was 40 years ago and there’s not a scintilla of evidence the alleged behavior continued. I suspect it stopped about 33 years ago, if it occurred at all, when he married his bad-ass wife.
So, yeah, maybe he was a little pervy 38 years ago. I don’t care. He’s our guy now and he must win the election or it’s certain to go to a baby killer.
At least if he wins and then is forced out, we’ll still have a pro life Senator from AL when the Governor appoints his replacement.
Now, or 40 years ago when marriage at 14 was much more common in the South. A common tool of the left is to hold modern culture up to older culture. Forty years ago a Confederate statue would not be given a second thought, but gay marriage was unthinkable. Only one of the women even hinted at what would be considered wrongdoing at that time, and she worked for the DNC. A man flirting with a teenage girl (or boy) today is only considered wrong if a Conservative does it. Don’t believe me? Who has condemned Barney Frank, and Bill Clinton?

Supposedly he signs the yearbook at Christmas. Yearbooks come out at the end of the school year.

The real question on this thread is why so many of you believe these women without a shred of proof.
The fact that my knee doesn’t jerk when its supposed to jerk doesn’t make me a troll. It makes me someone able to evaluate the preponderance of evidence and make up my own mind.
Most charismatic strong men have strong sex drives. Some learn to harness and channel it over time, others are harnessed by it. We know many of the latter, I suspect Moore is the former. Trump was no saint either.
If a man doesn't need to sleep with women as a primary sustenance of his ego, then after sleeping with enough - and that number varies depending on the man, he finds the cost greater than the benefit in most cases.

Eleven I think. It was 11 women and Gloria Allred who accused Trump. They struck out went poof into the aether.
It may be a case of the lesser of two evils. However bad he may or may not be, it appears he’s been walking the straight-and-narrow for decades. And the future of America is at stake; we can’t afford another ‘rat in the Senate. As bad as he might be, any ‘rat would be worse.
And we have to remember that Allred has a history of paying women to lie.
Does that 11 count the young one who claimed rape, I think several times?

Why anyone believes these women without a scintilla of proof is pretty weird. FR seems to have a lot more trolls than usual, lately.
