North Korea Says It May Give Up Nuclear Weapons If U.S. Abandons Them First

North Korea suggested Wednesday it may be open to giving up its nuclear weapons, but only if the U.S. did so first.

Ruling Korean Workers' Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun published a commentary Wednesday in which the country's authoritarian leadership challenged President Donald Trump to reverse his support for a bigger, stronger U.S. nuclear weapons arsenal and adopt a non-proliferation policy. North Korea has argued its weapons of mass destruction stockpile was necessary only to prevent the U.S. from overthrowing the government of Kim Jong Un, which the U.S. has threatened to do by force if he did not abandon his nuclear weapons.

"The DPRK's access to nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic rockets is a just choice for self-defense to counter the U.S. nuclear threat. Therefore, no one has right to fault with it," the newspaper wrote, according to the official Korean Central News Agency, referring to North Korea's official name: the Democratic People's Republic of Korea....

Go for it, Little Kim!

It’s a start.

Little Kim is going to get precisely what he fears, terminated. Acting on one’s fears always fulfills them.

At least with MAD, the U.S. and Soviet leaders both understood the mutual destruction of both nations if one used nukes against the other.

Problem with Kim Jong-Un and North Korea in their use of a nuke against us, is that the total destruction will be of North Korea, while the U.S. will survive.

Suppose South Korea were to announce it has nuclear weapons, and will give them up when China gives up theirs.

EXACTLY analogous, in every detail, as one might consider in this proposed scenario, where did South Korea get its nuclear weapons?

How stupid are we?

Not only that, but Don Trump is the last president in a line f 45 of them to even consider this proposal. Mr. Obama might’ve, though.

One MIRV’d SLBM would leave nothing worth having left there.

OK, here's the counter offer:

You give up your nukes, and we don't blow you all to Hell.

Yeah, right. Even IF the U.S. did this, they wouldn’t. They’d hide them somewhere, and then they’d have the upper hand. Could you imagine with countries with nukes like Russia and China giving up our nukes? Insane.

No it's not a start at all!...this same tune has been sung over and over for decades ...they're back to the same buying time they've played for decades...wash and repeat...while they continue building their nuclear arsenal.

They've been through that before. Our bombing campaign during the Korean War was so effective that nothing of value remained - every structure, port, bridge etc. totally destroyed and our planes dumped leftover bombs in the ocean because they couldn't find anything else to destroy. Unfortunately, the Chinese and Soviets helped them rebuild.

This time, North Korea should be left as a radioactive ruin so utterly destroyed that it won't be rebuilt by anyone. Overseas North Koreans can be re-integrated into South Korean society (after the necessary re-indoctrination).

"Well there you go, problem solved."

Agreed! Let our political and social trash take itself out with its insane wishful thinking and policy choices. Get it over with. Rebuild. Live in peace.

And yes, North Korea offered the same deal before for the sake of its big brothers. That’s North Korea’s purpose: to cause as much damage against us as possible, so those other two countries can finish the job at that same point in time.

Never happen and that fat little {censored} knows it. We would only give up nuclear weapons if we found something equally or more powerful - matter/anti-matter, large scale directed energy, etc.

As long as there are people like Kim in the far east and those crazy {censored} in the middle east we need the means to threaten them with wholesale destruction.
