FBI report on black 'extremists' raises new monitoring fears

An FBI report on the rise of black “extremists” is stirring fears of a return to practices used during the civil rights movement, when the bureau spied on activist groups without evidence they had broken any laws.

The FBI said it doesn’t target specific groups, and the report is one of many its intelligence analysts produce to make law enforcement aware of what they see as emerging trends. A similar bulletin on white supremacists, for example, came out about the same time.

The 12-page report, issued in August, says “black identity extremists” are increasingly targeting law enforcement after police killings of black men, especially since the shooting of Michael Brown roiled Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. The report describes cases in which “extremists” had “acted in retaliation for perceived past police brutality incidents.” It warned that such violence was likely to continue.

Black leaders and activists were outraged after Foreign Policy revealed the existence of the report last month. The Congressional Black Caucus, in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, said the report “conflates black political activists with dangerous domestic terrorist organizations” and would further erode the frayed relationship between police and minority communities. “I have never met a black extremist. I don’t know what the FBI is talking about,” said Chris Phillips, a filmmaker in Ferguson.

Before the Trump administration, the report might not have caused such alarm. The FBI noted it issued a similar bulletin warning of retaliatory violence by “black separatist extremists” in March 2016, when the country had a black president, Barack Obama, and black attorney general, Loretta Lynch. …

Could anyone help me write a rap song about how it’s cool to be redneck? OK, only half kidding, maybe only a quarter kidding, or an eighth.

“If New York City were white the murder rate would drop by 91 percent”

Not even the most virulent racists believe that kind of nonsense.

The most ignorant ones might.

The Marxist inspired militantism came before and directly led to the worst of it. Prior to the rise of the various black power movements like the Black Panthers or Nation of Islam, and after them to the thuggish drug peddling gangs who breed the lowest sort of predators to prey on their fellow man, there was an organized crime element in the black community, just as there had been in other ethnic groups, that spurred crime rates, yet in their behavior there wasn’t much to distinguish them from other American organized crime.

But where the Italians, Irish, or Jewish “mafias” (and others) might eventually gave way to efforts at legitimization by those wanting better than crime and also to various extents opposed communism (it was in academia, entertainment and the media that saw the Communist and Cultural Marxist largely prosper to grow as a cancer) this seems to not be so much the case with the emerging black militants.

This isn’t meant to slander ordinary black organized criminals back in the day as if they were worse than other organized criminals, they weren’t, only to acknowledge that this other *thing* followed after them and it is THIS that created the destruction and suffering we see.

(Even, or especially, in the hands of militants like Obama or Ayers: who COULD HAVE spent the hundred or so million of the Chicago Annenburg Challenge grant on remedial education and actually done some good but instead chose to “invest” in social justice pabulum, in what exasperated the sickness instead.)

The same seems to have happened with other Central and South American crime organizations: too frequently perverted beyond the merely criminal by radical ideologies.

Do not be too hasty to see race where twisted ideology is really to blame.

The largely white scum that populate AntiFa are only just getting started. Do not imagine that they will not proceed from bad to worse till we have reason to wonder about an explosion in white crime and violence (which of course will be the mantra rather than accurately place blame with the isms from which the likes of AntiFa arise and which is the tall grass they presently hide in).

The FBI could care less about white victims of black hate crime. This action has occurred because of black on police crime.

I know you're right on this... One more reason to condemn Antifa every chance we get. Also, attacking the black criminal establishment is a favor for everyday black people... everyday black citizens ARE NOT the criminal element anymore than everyday Italians ARE the mafia.

When they're lumped together it causes law biding black citizen to defend the lowlife criminal elements in their midst... which is what's happening now. It's destructive.

Can you imagine a world where white people riot because some lowlife white person was shot in the process of committing a crime? Never happen. We don't identify with criminal lowlifes just because their skin is white.

Blacks should not be identifying with lowlife black criminals just because their skin is black either.

My feeling is the blurring started during the civil rights movement of the sixties... when being arrested was a badge of honor - and a successful tactic of Martin Luther King Jr. Of course those arrests were principled acts of civil disobedience... hearkening back to a Gandhi approach...( Historical note: MLK's movement was almost stopped in Albany Ga. when a local sheriff read MLK writings and told his police officers to NOT arrest MLK under any circumstances... luckily for the civil rights movement the message didn't get out to everyone...)

I reject the implicit premise of equivalence between BLM and the civil rights movement of the ‘60s. The latter was based in reality and morally commendable. BLM is nothing but contemptible victimhood theatrics based in a lie.
