Does anyone think the coach of the UCLA team did not brief the players on their behavior on the trip? If the coach(es) didn’t, then they were very negligent.
If the players ignored the advice to behave, then they are very stupid.
All 3 of them read statements which sounded like copies of each other. Not a single inflection of voice what told me they truly UNDERSTAND what they did was wrong—nor that they are truly grateful for not going to prison in China for 10 years.
None of them will stay out of trouble. They were born to it, raised in it & are steeped in it. The only questions are: How soon? How bad??

Not the job of the coach, IMO. I played in marching band, pep band & concert band when I was in high school. We attended parades, competitions, and athletic contests in towns & cities other than our home town. I spent one whole summer in ‘band camp’ away from home with hundreds of other kids.
My brothers played both football & basketball.
I NEVER heard any lectures or warnings from the Band Director to ‘behave’ ourselves when in another location. I don’t believe they did, either.
It just WAS NOT NEEDED !!!!!
I graduated from HS when I was only 17 yrs & 6 mos. These ‘kids’ are older than most of my HS classmates.
This ‘father’ is acting more like a missing sperm donor than a real Dad. We knew far earlier than age 18 to not act like these punks are acting.
Lucky I wasn’t the key to getting them back into the USA without serving time. They would have been in China for a very long time as an example to others who cannot behave, no matter what color they might be.
Perhaps China will not be inviting black teams to their country in the future.

Try being critical of his kids on Youtube. LaVar will find them and attack the person being critical, even in the comment sections. It could be legit criticism but LaVar will come in and attack the poster. While defending your kids is one thing and understandable, LaVar is a wacko and takes it to the extreme.
