Apple Takes Aim at Trump in Australian Interview

Obama official attacked the Trump administration in an interview with an Australian news outlet.

Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, blasted President Trump and his administration in a recent interview with news.com.au.

Jackson told the overseas outlet that it was hard to watch Trump’s presidency after years of working for President Obama at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Ms Jackson is clearly troubled by the political direction of her country.

“I think our leadership — American leadership in the world — remains important and will be missed,” she said.

According to the Australian outlet, Jackson also criticized the man Trump appointed to run the EPA, Scott Pruitt.

Apple’s decision to allow a member of its executive leadership team to criticize the president with a foreign outlet is a continuation of a troubling pattern for the U.S. tech giant. CEO Tim Cook regularly spars with Trump in the news and has appeased authoritarian regimes like the one in China in order to broaden Apple’s markets.

Apple’s actions are about as far from Trump’s “America First” mantra as a company can get.

Pretty sanctimonious from a company that uses slave labor and creates toxic waste dumps.

There are alternatives. They are not cheap, but they are amazingly secure.

Lisa Jackson is a pig. I’m embarrassed that she and I share our alma mater. At least I know I was admitted based on my qualifications....

A job created just for her after she was caught and forced out of the Obama administration for using an alias email to conduct gubmint business.

Seems there was a lot of that going on in the previous 8 years

Oh my gosh, what will Rush do? How can he choose between Trump and Apple? He already had to deal with his NFL crush, I think his brain might melt.

In my household, we have been using non-apple products without security problems. They have more apps and have been easy to learn to use. Ideed, if my wife can learn to use an Android, anyone can.

Apple’s vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives

When they can afford a VP-level position with this title - along, I'm sure, with an attendant staff - the company has lost focus.

Noted. No way to get away from Apple, they're the 800 pound gorilla. But, I can make sure to limit exposure to them in my portfolio.

I think she resents the fact that Obama Executive Orders (EOs) last only until the new President (Elections have consequences - BHO) cancels them. As the previous EPA Administrator, she never saw anything that was not better with government. Now the EPA is stopping the use of pre-paid ‘science’ advisors and the ‘gift’ funding of the LEFTist Environmentalists, like Sierra Club, from law suits that the EPA brings.
