All Clinton was ever interested in was a handshake in front of the camera. Trump knows that a lasting peace or trade agreement or anything international besides a war takes time and patience, like a tree growing, and a lot of maneuvering and bluffing.
I agree. That romp with the family and Yasser Arafat was a sad thing.
Obama came in with the attitude he’d have a peace agreement in mere moments.
As you say, I think Trump realizes the history of the area and the long haul aspects. That’s a reasoned way to look at it.
Without him actually making a big deal about things, it is interesting the Arab meeting focused on terrorism. Here on this thread is talk about Arabs wanted to live under Israeli rule.
I mean these are incredible things, and they are taking place in part (at least by my reasoning) because Trump has contributed to an environment where folks know they can get a deal if they come together in good faith.
Who would have thought Iran and Hezbollah would be targeted by Arab states?
Reality is seemingly dawning on folks over there.
The U. S. is not their enemy. Iran is about to become a lethal one. Hezbollah has been a bad player for decades with Iran’s, Iraq’s, Syria’s, and Lebanon’s help.
That wasn’t helping the region. Hopefully some of this other stuff will.
