APNewsBreak: Ferguson leaders wonder if monitor worth cost

Ferguson, Missouri, has paid about a half-million dollars to the monitor team overseeing its police and court reforms, but city leaders question what they’ve gotten for their money, especially after the departure of the original lead monitor. […]

Concerns over the cost of monitoring were detailed in exclusive interviews with The Associated Press.

The money spent on monitoring is costly in Ferguson, paid for entirely with city funds. The community of 20,000 is much smaller, with far less money, than most cities subject to Justice Department consent agreements. Money is so tight that Ferguson voters twice in 2016 approved tax increases to keep the budget balanced.

Mayor James Knowles III said [Washington attorney Clark Kent] Ervin failed to follow through on some projects, including opening an office in Ferguson and surveying residents. City Attorney Apollo Carey said his departure slowed a court audit and other reforms.

“It begs the question: What are residents getting out of (monitoring)?” Knowles said. “They’re supposed to be getting transparency. They’re supposed to be getting regular updates and engagement from the monitor. They haven’t gotten any of it.” …

Why ‘monitor’ the cops?

It’s the domestic terrorists from Black Lives Matter who burned down the town

When you call in the government to do the work that morally belongs on the people of the community ... that’s what you get, every time.

“subject to Justice Department consent agreements.”

Welcome to the Barry Obummer/Eric Holder Dept. of Injustice, comrades. Just keep paying for the reeducation camps and overlord monitoring you are mandated to endure. In a few decades maybe Mordor on the Potomac will end the sanctions. Then, again, maybe not.

To be fair, despite that this all came to Holders ‘Justice’ Dept because of the ‘Gentle Giant’s’ timely death, the fact is that many St Louis County towns were making their budgets by fining their residents over trivial infractions. When these practices were revealed, there was no real defense, thus Ferguson signed the consent to be monitored. The rottenness extended from the lawless street thugs up to the ‘city fathers’. Perhaps they deserved each other.

Of course they haven’t. Those BLM ‘activists’ were just bargaining for a postcard job with significant pay - since they were owed and all for starting all the trouble. There never was any inequity of justice in Ferguson. Half a million dollars later is there any argument left to the contrary? Ditch the blackmailers and learn.

Can’t the monitors do a better job by driving patrol cars in the evil parts of town?

Consent degrees existed long before 0bama. But BHO and Holder certainly found a way to weaponize them.

Saint Michael Brown and the BLM destroyed Ferguson, Missouri forever.

The BLM also recently brought the city of St. Louis to its knees.

Of course, we know the "Hag Senator McCaskill" approved of this behavior on the streets of St. Louis and Ferguson.

She is the current Rat Senator from the Great State of Missouri who will not be a Rat Senator after the 2018 elections in the Great State of Missouri.
