The attorney for Democratic Michigan Rep. John Conyers, who is accused of continuously sexually harassing his female staffers, defended Conyers by indicating that there are allegations against "many members" of the House and Senate.

[Snip]

"[Conyers' attorney] acknowledged that while these allegations are serious, they are simply allegations," the statement said. "If people were required to resign over allegations, a lot of people would be out of work in this country including many members of the House, Senate and even the president."

The statement said that Conyers has "no plans to resign" despite calls for him to do so.

It's a two pronged response ... the "it can't be wrong because everybody else did it" defense ... and the "I won't go down alone" offense ... both ways, it's going to get messy if they try to oust this dirty old Rat!

Most members of Congress spend most of their time drinking and whoring, though they do take breaks in order to collect bribes.

So Conyers' lawyer strongly advises Roy Moore to stay in the race. Thanks!

Thanks for saving me the time to write an appropriate comment. It just amazes me that reporters hearing these statements can’t think of the obvious follow up questions.

In return, here’s a link to a terrific Thanksgiving column for you to savor: https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2017/11/23/seven-things-conservatives-should-be-thankful-for-n2412522

Happy Thanksgiving.

Good. Let’s expose all the corruption.

I would not want Mr. Conyers to be lonely in Leavenworth, Kansas.

With any luck, the “Tuesday Group” will be able to keep holding their lunch meetings in the prison cafeteria.

From what he’s saying, you’d get the impression he thinks he’s working in some kind of swamp.

ClearCase_guy :" "If people were required to resign over allegations, a lot of people would be out of work in this country
including many members of the House, Senate and even the president."

A receipt for money received is "proof positive" of payment in lieu of prosecution, or of court action.
Payment is made to make the complaint to "go away", lest conviction in a court of law occur.
If innocent, no payment should have been given, much less taxpayer money.
It is a moot argument, especially among the guilty.
