Quote of the Day: It’s Time For Fudds to Speak Up for Gun Control
The Truth About Guns ^ | 11/25/17 | Dan Zimmerman

Posted on 11/25/2017 7:06:38 AM PST by Simon Green

“Let’s be frank: Hunters know that high-capacity magazines and semi-automatic rifles are unnecessary for our sport. These guns are weapons of war, designed to kill human beings. You could say the same about handguns. My dad often talks about bringing a sidearm for protection while hunting in serious grizzly bear country, but I tell him not to bother. Studies have shown that bear spray is more effective, anyway, and there’s a good deal less collateral damage likely to be caused.” – Greg Luther in Hunters, sportsmen must speak up now on gun control [via abqjournal.com]

‘Bear spray is much more effective’ - LOL! Which study is this that shows a spray is more effective than a firearm?

There are FReepers who believe this too. Had a lengthy argument with one last week who seemed to think that you don’t need an AR-15. You just need more range time. smh

I believe it, because it’s true. They aren’t “necessary” for the sport. GUNS aren’t necessary for the sport of hunting. NONE of this has anything to do with the 2nd Amendment.

Yep. I know a lot of Fudds. They definitely tend to skew older.

LMAO at gun control advocates who think they'll have success of they trot out grandpa with his rusty old bolt action to bleat against assault weapons to a younger generation who couldn't care less about hunting as they buy up the cool black rifles from "Call of Duty."

Seems to me, Bear spray souldn’t have stopped the Texas murderer.
Seem to me it took a high powered rifle used by a well trained shooter.

It’s actually past time for common sense, comprehensive Spending Control.

I agree. If an AR-15 isn’t a suitable hunting rifle, then no rifle is. Real hunters with real skills use a stone knife and their wits and athletic prowess.

He should also tell dad to wear some little bells for i.d.'ing the bear scat.

The bearded guy in that pic looks to me like he would not find this gif at all appealing.

2nd ammendment doesn’t have any reference to hunting in it. I have never read one Real study Proving with out a doubt that bear spray is more effective than my SBH.

Always wear little bells when you are in bear country.
Carry pepper spray just in case.

How do you know when you are in bear country...look for bear dung...It will have little bells in it and will smell like pepper spray

Insults are not the best way to inform those who are less knowledgeable or committed. Most “Fudds” are on our side and more amenable to semi-autos than you give credit for.
The Grabber Left has seized on this self-created division amongst shooters to further divide us, as evidenced by this article. Don’t make their job easier.

Exactly so. When my brother tells me he prefers to hunt with a black powder rifle, he's not being a Fudd. If he tells me (which he has not) that I shouldn't hunt with an AR-pattern rifle, let alone own one, he would be a Fudd.

It was probably a study sponsored by bears.
