In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.
At night we can hear them screaming, but were not allowed to do anything about it, the Marines father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because its their culture.
Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally boy play, and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.

The Fraud’s BFF’s.... Anyone who called themselves muslim.
bammy operated under the principle that muzzies were supreme, and no one must ever annoy them. Let them get away with whatever they wanted to do.
You can damn well bet that if this had been a Republican administration, the NY Times would not have run just ONE STORY on the subject. This would have been like Abu Ghraib--the story told over and over and over and over again.
When a liberal BIRD CAGE LINER like the NY Slimes reports like this on a Democrat administration, you KNOW the truth is likely much, much worse.
Funny, I don't recall any Democrat operatives demanding the SecDef or the Pentagon chiefs RESIGN over their tolerance of BOY RAPE.
It’s accepted practice if you are a muslim.
This is what happens when you have someone islamizing America and making it sharia compliant.
New York Times is finally covering this?
Bacha bazi is also practiced in hollyweird
Why would you torment your animal with that rag? It's only good for wrapping spoiled food in.
3rd country national duty is one of the most repugnant duties assigned to some of our troops. You’re basically keeping them off each other and more often than not, are witness to child abuse. Grossest culture on earth.
Actually in Washington they have been known to Bazi the entire country.
Several emails between Cheryl Mills, Hillary and Podesta discussed this and some British security contractors participating.
There were photos.
hell- they are told to ignore sexual abuse in the military after the don’t ask don’t tell was lifted and gay rapes skyrocketted
Our guys should have the authority to shoot-on-sight any pedophiles.
Why would you torment your animal with that rag?

If a parrot, he may repeat the content after he reads it.
On the other hand, if he is called as a witness in a trial, you might get off as being a liberal.
Check the date of the article...
and the sad liberals in the comments section of nyt try to justify it mentioning catholics, saying the koran doesn’t approve(bs) and many other things. Some say the practice predates islam. Unreal how liberals will twist things to fit their political agenda
They have been doing boy play for centuries in this backward culture. It was no secret to the Times before we got there, while we are there and after we leave. It offends the sensibilities of anyone Western. But are we there to reform their culture or protect our national security interest or both? If both then we can dispatch the editors from the Times to go over there and explain how much boy play offends them while we have the military tend to our national security.
In Islam it's not considered sex if it's done to children. When they grow up to become gay men they get tossed off buildings. Can you get any sicker than this cult? The Constitution of Afghanistan is explicitly Islamic. That is what our blood and treasure is defending. Am I the only one who has trouble with this?
