the recent virtue signalling by the MEDIA and the Democrats (but I repeat myself) over the unproven accusations against people like Roy Moore show their hypocrisy.
No one (of import) on the left said ANYTHING about what Team Obama did in Afghanistan when it came to these actions. Instead, Islam was applauded and cheered.
At least the Roman Catholic scandal was ACKNOWLEDGED as sin by the church, whereas this action by the Muslims of Afghanistan, as far as I know, has NOT been universally condemned.

I have friends “on the left” (family actually), and what I got mostly from them when mentioning a couple of the worst reported occasions of Afghan men and their boy sex-slaves that our military encountered, it was at best an “oh my” and at worst a shrug, as if saying without saying “ well what were WE supposed to do”.
Were it me instead of Obama, our military in Afghanistan would have had a zero-tolerance policy on the matter, and there would be no Afghan persons working with us, military or not, no matter their rank or importance, if they demonstrated any amount of pedophile sex that we were aware of.
If one of our military “knocked off” any such person, I’d instruct our DOD to take a “we know nothing” policy. If the Afghan government insisted on making an issue of it, my answer would be “we can leave any time you want”.
