The joke, apparently, was over the head of the dolts at ABC. Pocahontas was an historically respected young Indian women. The object of the joke, of course, was the pretentious claims of a Leftist Senator.
ABC constantly reminds us of another joke; a reference to someone being only imagined as stupid, until they opened their mouth and removed all doubt.
