A federal judge has granted two attorneys general permission to subpoena 23 Trump businesses to require them to preserve documents potentially related to an emoluments case.
The two-page order by U.S. District Judge Peter Messittee grants the request by Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh and District of Columbia Attorney Karl Racine for permission to serve the subpoenas related to their lawsuit.
Their lawsuit, filed in June, alleges that President Trump’s wide-ranging businesses with foreign and domestic governments violate the Foreign and Domestic Emoluments Clauses. Trump has motioned to dismiss the lawsuit, and oral arguments are scheduled for Jan. 25, 2018.

Every time I see things like this, I think of Tom Delay and how they railroaded him out of the House of Representatives.

I honestly wish some judge would show some backbone and file frivolous case charges against some of these hacks.

When President Trump was President-Elect Donald Trump, just a few weeks before his swearing in as the nation’s 45th president, the president-elect held a televised news conference with one of his attorneys, a woman whose name escapes my mind.
The president’s attorney was standing by a table piled sky-high with manila folders. The president-elect announced he was turning over the day-to-day running of his businesses to his two adult sons as well as other business associates.
The Emoluments Clause is meaningless here, because the president-elect also announced at this point in time that he was giving all the incoming profits from his overseas business interests to the U.S. Treasury.
