Blackburn: We're Going to Release Names of Congressmen Who Used 'Hush Fund'
Townhall.com ^ | November 30, 2017 | Cortney O'Brien

Americans were rightfully outraged when they learned that members of Congress had used taxpayer dollars to pay settlement claims to alleged victims of sexual harassment.

They were even more outraged when they saw the numbers. The secret payouts for harassment claims, of which there have been more than 200, amounted to more than $17 million. There's no telling so far how much of that money went to silence sexual assault accusers.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is seeking to release the names of lawmakers who used this "hush fund." She's a co-sponsor of the Congressional Accountability and Hush Fund Elimination Act, which would require full disclosure of the settlements within 30 days.

Using taxpayer dollars to settle sexual harassment claims against members of Congress is disgusting. We're going to release the names of those who used this hush fund, and these individuals will pay this money back to the American people with interest. https://t.co/Wloe8uw0QT— Marsha Blackburn (@MarshaBlackburn) November 30, 2017

"Like most of my colleagues, I was completely disgusted to find out about this," Blackburn said.

When claims are presented, she explained, the names are anonymous.

"Let's bring the sunshine in," Blackburn offered. "Let's bring some transparency and accountability."

"These have been personal bailouts," she added. "Let's end this."

It's a bipartisan effort, with Rep. Tulsi Gubbard (D-HI) one of the Democrats on board.

“Enough is enough,” Hawaii Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, one of the bill’s sponsors, said. “For far too long sexual predators have roamed freely through the halls of Congress -- the people’s house  -- while survivors of sexual harassment and assault have essentially been isolated, bullied and shamed into silence.”

In addition to unmasking the lawmakers who used the hush fund, the bipartisan bill will mandate that taxpayers get their money back - "with interest," says Blackburn.

Lawmakers are introducing other pieces of legislation intended to combat a culture of sexual abuse on Capitol Hill. On Wednesday, Congress passed a bill requiring members to participate in anti-harassment training.

.......to get a list of these congressional gropers, just dig in to Imran Awan’s lap top. Awan & Paki ISI has had this list of names for years....

Kudos......nice contribution to the discussion. Certainly does explain why DNC Debbie is so desperate to get it back.

WHAT ELSE IS ON THE LAP TOP?

<><> lists of offshore banks with stolen tax dollars deposited by these thieves?

<><> emails between Debbie and Obama?

<><> states where the DNC fixed the vote for Dems?

<><> list of Debbie's fake voters?

<><> where Obama got the billions to payoff Iran?

<><> images of Obama's birth certificate?

<><> Obama's membership papers in the Muslim Brotherhood?

I want to know when this fund was started, the names of the pukes who set the slush fund up in the first place, and if it required a vote, I want the names of those who voted for it.

Yes. Was the fund so secret that there are members of Congress who didn't know about it? Is this bill to repeal the slush fund only now being presented because the hush fund has been exposed?

Wonder if there were any claims against the former Senator from New York. That WOULD be funny.

Claw the money back—from the estate of the deceased if necessary.

Enough!

I just called Marcia Blackburn's office and spoke to a woman there. I'm not a Tennessee constituent as I live in NY State, but she was nice enough to talk to me, and answer some of my questions. She said this is a general legal defense fund that is used for all different kinds of cases, and at some point, the payment of sexual harassment cases was somehow slipped into it. I'd like to know what other types of cases have used tax payer dollars from this fund. I believe there should be Congressional hearings on it.

I then called my Congresswoman, Claudia Tenney, and explained to the person I talked to that although I know the Congresswoman is a freshman, that I would like her to push for hearings so that we, the taxpayers, can find out what other sleazy payouts have been made from this defense fund since its inception.

Article states......”Using taxpayer dollars to settle sexual harassment claims against members of Congress is disgusting”...

Well there is the legal issue ‘if or not they’re guilty’ of what the pay off was for....which is beyond just being guilty of paying off people....goes to another level altogether.

I’ve been ruminating this entire sordid episode in the history of our country. I wonder if those that benefited from the “shush” money being paid received 1099s like any regular citizen? Was the amount reported on their individual tax returns? Every single, sniveling pervert that benefited shoul be exposed, and audited by the IRS.

In the words of an old commercial, “I’m mad too Eddie!”

It refers to Eddie Chiles who ended every appearance with the fact he was angry. “You need to get mad, too.” He would always say. And then this: “The government should deliver the mail and stay the hell out of my business.” Chiles became a folk hero of sorts. “I’m mad, too, Eddie”

If there is ever a time that it is a possibility of getting this information to the public, in the current climate, NOW is the time. If not NOW, then it will never happen.

I hope and pray the info is made public, REGARDLESS of whether it is D or R by their names. We need to know who to cull.

This has been an incredible year.

The Congressmen who did NOT utilize this fund and this system have a huge vested interest in making sure that the ones who DID are outed fully. As long as the list and payouts remain secret, the entire Congress is equally tainted by the horrific stench of this practice. Everyone in Congress is guilty of the cover up and ANY of them could be guilty of using the fund. The ones who are innocent need to have the guilty outed and exposed more than anyone else. If all of Congress is tainted, they all go down.

Because of this I am extremely confident that those who used this fund and the hush process will be fully exposed.

“Ryan will never let it even get to a committee. Much less a vote on the floor.”

If he elects to do so, it will be at his peril! This ship has sailed. If he’s not on board, he won’t be getting a life preserver.

If these congresscritters couldn’t take advantage of interns and staff they would use those accounting gimmicks to pay for hookers. They could claim that the hush fund is cheaper. Wouldn’t be surprised if they are doing that already.
