I am going to argue for the very unpopular, even shocking, view that, even if Roy Moore did what he is accused of doing, Alabamans are within their rights to vote for him, and they shouldnt let Democrats and Never Trumpers shame them into not voting.
Here is one thing we know and should admit from the start: in his early thirties, Moore had a penchant for dating teenagers. Apparently, this was not an uncommon occurrence during this time. In fact, this practice has a long history and is not without some merit if one wants to raise a large family.
To have a large family, the wife must start having kids when she is young. The husband needs to be well-established and able to support the family, in which case he will typically need to marry when older. Consider Keith Burgess-Jacksons (philosophy professor at UT Arlington) account of his own grandparents:
Whats the big deal about a 32-year-old man courting a 14-year-old girl? My maternal grandmother was 15 years old when she married and 16 years old when she conceived her first child. Her husband was 41 and 42. They had 10 children during the next 20 years. This was normal back then. Im sure it was normal in Alabama 40 years ago as well. The age of consent in Alabama even today is 16 (with parental consent)
Im sick to death of people imposing their own moral standards on people of the past, whether its Thomas Jefferson, Robert E. Lee, George Armstrong Custer, Martin Luther King Jr, or Roy Moore. Times have changed. But, like it or not, four decades ago Moore dated teenagers (even his wife is 14 years younger than he).

Yup. Dumped the teens and married a grass widow. Go figure.
My wife of 40 years is 10 years younger than me, guess by today’s standards that make me a pedophile
Haven’t read the article, burt the answer today is the same as it’s been since the sex allegations first arose. We vote for Roy Moore to prevent a Dim from winning the senate seat. If Moore has to leave the senate later, then our Republican governor would appoint another temporary senator and schedule another special election.
Keep the Dim out of that senate seat. Everything else is alot of BS and self-righteous moral preening.
Someone should ask...in a smallish Alabama city in the 1970’s who would be available for a bachelor around 30 to date? This isn’t NYC or LA or even Atlanta we are talking about. How many women of Roy Moore’s age, or near that age, were still single? Women there married early and started having families. To find women that were still available, not married with kids already, or without boyfriends, he likely had no choice (or very little choice) except to date women who were about to get out of high school.
When he was 32, the woman who would become his life-mate was 18. There is probably an outstanding reason for that - beyond just his personal taste.
Lazy question:
Can somebody point me to a clear recitation of the things Roy Moore is exactly accused of?
I want to see clarified:
— sex acts vs dating
— 18 years old vs 17 vs 16 vs 15 vs 14 vs 13
— number of accusers
— identity of accusers
— veracity, credibility of accusers
Dumped the teens and married a grass widow. Go figure.

She had a little experience don’t you reckon?
True. However it seems a plausible moral position that there is a threshold of evil that may disqualify a candidate from receiving one's vote even if the alternative is worse.
However, I think the specific allegations that might put him beyond that threshold are plausibly not true, and I can not maintain as plausible the moral theory that we should never vote for somebody who could plausibly be beyond a certain threshold of evil...because it would be rare that we would ever be able to vote in such a case: we would have to know the candidate so well that we could be certain they don't have a deep dark secret.
Thus as long as his innocence is reasonably plausible of the worst of what he was accused of, I would say there is not moral duty to avoid voting for him on these grounds.
From our colonial days to the time of the pill most women married at 18 had lots of kids until around age 45 when menopause kicked in.
My father-in-law was 29 when he married my mother-in-law and she was 18 and just out of high school.
Making fun of Judge Moore is similar to making fun of Pence for his old-fashioned ideas.
I would have thought that Leviticus 21, Mark 10 or Matthew 19 might have given him pause.
I willingly assumed adult responsibilities at 16, including parenthood, college along with work, rent etc the following year-not at all unusual for a ranch kid-no food stamps, no welfare-in other words a “real” adult.
And my 2nd hubby, MrT5 was 11 years older than me.
The author is right-this is just sanctimonious moralizing by some self-righteous people-especially since the allegations against Moore are not backed up by proof of any kind-just pure bulls***...
The woman that Roy Moore DID end up marrying, was a woman some 14 years his junior, Kayla Kisor, who was 24 when she married Moore, then 38.
Roy Moore always had an eye for females younger than himself, by a pretty good measure.
It is a very good article ...
Whatever, at this point the only thing that matters is keeping the extreme left Dim candidate out of the Alabama senate seat. People can engage in navel gazing later to decide if anything further needs to happen after, hopefully, a Roy Mooore victory. And, actually, I wish we had a better candidate, but he's the only one at this point who can keep the seat Republican.
I hope everyone helps the judge win The Dimocrap and GOPe attacks against him are the worst kind of dirty politics Ive ever seen.

Nice roundup of the accusers and Judge Moore's responses.

WHAT ABOUT BEING FALSELY ACCUSED ????
Never Trumpers and drive by media TV and radio talk hosts were having a field day ignoring the fact that all of the accusers were of the age of legal consent. Including the one claiming when 14* years old. For her accusations are the juiciest. All of which Moore denied. Because they hinted at and Moore was actually accused by a group of being a “Pedafile” which later included Illinois GOP governor Bruce Rauner who did so on a early am Ray and John WLS news show 11/28 who also took a swipe at radio talk show host Joe Walsh in the same sentence.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3603749/posts *claim disproved see links below.
A result after the above being gleefully reported and dwelled on by CNN and the media alphabet soup as well as never Trumpers in a touchy feel-ly manner. As if it came off of a never given or made police report which requires a sworn complaint.
All the accusations against Moore originate and are quoted from media sources which support positions like : Abortion, gender sex reclassification, gay marriage, and nullification of religious influence on culture. All of which are solidly opposed by candidate Roy Moore.
Despite that fact and that it has been uncovered that his accusers are working for the Perversion Party and that their accusations are false and politically motivated. The drivebys and the nevers media are not reporting this. but are mentioning one accuser is a “Republican” then when examined turns out to be questionable.
Worse yet even though these accusations have been solidly refuted. The general public relying on certain venues including talk show hosts are not being told what’s been uncovered. .
Bill Cunningham on his Sunday 9 to 12 pm show 11/19 who consistently goes off half cocked never brings up the forged yearbook or the backgrounds on Moores accusers but announces he thinks Moore was attracted to teens of consenting age and didnt do anything illegal.
Ben ? Shapiro substituting for Mark Levine on 11/22 proclaimed he wouldnt vote for either if he was voting on the Alabama race even though he admitted he knew about the forgery but dismissed it. .
Here is a background on 5 accusers. One works for the perverts that one knows the one who claimed she was 14*. But was actually 16 at the time ?

Alred charge : Grad book signature a forgery; http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3604591/posts link shows someone named Roy or Ray signed it.Then Moore’s last name was added to it in a blue colored ink. His legal secretary at the time he was a Circuit Court Judge declared it a forgery because her initials; DA, appeared with his signature in that year book. Because she would verify his signature Moore / DA /date only on his court rulings .Which is what that forgery was copied from .http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3608349/posts
It’s been reported that CNN reproduced and showed the page in question in one colored ink; black.
Disciplined ex Gasden police officer Lt Gary accusation Moore was banned from local shopping center for skirt chasing cheerleaders and other charges were politically motivated and are lies.

Women have their best childbearing years in their 20s.
Most men don't start making real money until their 30s.
Used to be, everybody knew that because, well, it's true.
How many marriages have hit the rocks over money?
Feminism isnothing less than a refutation of biology and that's why it's a dismal and depressing failure.
Thanks for all of that information. This does feel like a hit job on Moore by the left and RINOs.
