'The Ultimate Sacrifice': NFL Player to Wear Custom Cleats to Honor Colin Kaepernick
Fox News ^

A Tennessee Titans player plans to wear special cleats on Sunday to honor Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback whose decision to kneel during the national anthem has sparked heated debate over social justice protests.

Wide receiver Rishard Matthews shared a photo of the "Know Your Rights" cleats, which also include a drawing of Kaepernick and the name "Colin" on them.

Matthews wrote: "I dont have a foundation so i have chosen to support my brother @kaepernick7 foundation @yourrightscamp for #MyCauseMyCleats He has paid the ultimate sacrifice in order to bring true everyday issues to light."

Here's another example:

William Gay wore purple shoes for domestic violence awareness, got fined

Posted by Josh Alper on October 28, 2015, 11:10 AM EST

DeAngelo Williams wasn’t the only member of the Steelers to get fined by the league this week for sending a message via his uniform.

Cornerback William Gay has also been fined $5,787 for wearing purple shoes in an attempt to draw attention to domestic violence issues during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Gay’s mother was shot and killed by his stepfather when Gay was seven years old, which makes his personal relationship to the issue a particularly close one.

As we’ve seen numerous times over the years, the league’s rules about uniforms don’t offer any wiggle room for players to highlight causes of interest to them. The only approved alterations come when during league-wide efforts in October and November to recognize breast cancer awareness and the United States military.

This will be entertaining either way: If they fine them for the "Colin" shoes, the hilarity would be non-stop for weeks (this won't happen, but one can always hope). The other possibility still has entertainment value as people will point out the glaring double standard of fining a guy for paying tribute to his murdered mother while letting these jerks wear any shoes they want.

What’s an ‘NFL’?

I'm not sure, but it might be the phoenetic or possibly the ebonic spelling of "enn-fill" referring to the late great Gwen Ifill.

Would be good = were anyone to have the guts to do it = to show up unannounced at the game wearing ‘Support the Police’, support the Military etc etc etc,

See how quick it takes for the refs to kick them off the field.

HOWEVER, the guts part comes in when ‘they’ let one wear them and the team refuses to block etc etc etc..

Either way, good method of cutting the crap from the ‘Golden Calf’.

Whoever is in charge of PR should be the next titular head of the D Party.

WE need all the help WE can get and this person and their staff would fit right in for OUR SIDE or, at the very least be in charge of the ‘RINO’ wing of the R Party.

Sometimes when I watch a football game it seems somewhat insane. The talking heads talk and report as if football is the most important thing in the entire world. It doesn’t change our lives. We are not learning or discovering anything. It is an escape from day to day reality. Lots of people are discovering other important things when the routine of watching the game is gone.

Isn’t it also the same NFL that would not allow Dallas players to put stickers on their helmets to honor police officers, or something like that?

Kaepernick is dead from the neck up, this much is true.

An attention grabbing backup Wide Receiver Rishard Mathews (apparently somebody in the family doesn’t know how to spell) is supporting former attention grabbing backup QB Colin Kaperdink.... Too bad about this news...

Questionable
(Hamstring): Matthews sat out the previous game due to a hamstring injury and it is uncertain if he will play Sunday against the Texans. (Updated November 28, 2017)

My guess.... He’ll be sitting, rather than playing and when it comes to backups and secondary players on an NFL team... That’s usually what they do.

Tennessee Titans?! This is the same team with the player that said he didn’t care if the fans showed up or not. “Well, Bye!” he said. Who in their right mind is still supporting this team?

This neanderthal needs a better understanding of the term “ultimate sacrifice”.

Hint - it has something to do with that flag you and your no-talent idol have disrespected.

The stupid idiots keep adding gasoline to their fire. Toast is what they are. Honoring a jerk that walked out on his contract then blame other teams for not hiring him and then blame racial unfairness for his plight is just stupid.

Special "Know Your Rights" cleats ???

I always thought that the purpose of 'cleats' was to get a better grip on the playing turf. How silly of me.

Another example of the moronic "Football Mentality" that permeates our culture. /sigh
