The White House said on Friday that it was the Obama administration that authorized former national security adviser Michael Flynn's contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during President Trump's transition, according to CNN.
Flynn pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Kislyak in the month before Trump took office, the first current or former Trump White House official brought down by special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's election meddling.
Court records indicate that his communications with Kislyak were directed by a Trump transition official, with multiple news outlets reporting that official was Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner.
“They are saying here at the White House that Flynn’s conversations with Sergey Kisylak were quote ‘authorized’ by the Obama administration,” CNN correspondent Jim Acosta said.

He may not have lied. He may have misunderstood, he may have forgotten something, if you remember that transition was a whirlwind. It may also be that since Babi asked for help, Flynn May have thought it was none of their business. Remember, you don’t have to be under oath to “lie” to the FBI
Because he knew the corrupt Comey McCabe FBI would leak it to the corrupt media which would use it to derail Trump before he even took office. Think back, there were efforts to try to stop the inauguration and it was all about “Russia collusion”.
In deciding to lie, Flynn essentially fell on a grenade to protect a buddy.
The Logan Act restricts unauthorized citizens from conducting foreign policy negotiations with foreign governments who are in a dispute with the U.S.
I hardly think a President Elect who won in an electoral landslide and his foreign policy chief would be considered “unauthorized”. Also they were trying to get Russia and all the other security council members (people are missing that) to delay the vote on condemnation of israel’s building in it’s own capitol.
Also some discussion was preparing for changing relations after the new administration is sworn in so THEY COULD DEFEAT ISIS TOGETHER. The left, MSM, and sheep can’t see that most Americans would heartily agree with both and the whole Flynn problem is that he was preventing the Obama-man-child from slapping at Israel one more time before he is escorted out of the white house and for winning the war against the monsters Obama’s (and McCain’s, Hillary’s) policies created.

So, in case I had a stroke or a brain tumor, how is this collusion to meddle in the election.
Trump is guilty of one thing for sure - being too naive about the special counsel - no scope was set and Mueller can investigate a ham sandwich if he wants to.
I still believe this is a dog and pony show meant to drag on until November 2018.
The real danger for Trump is being set up right now - as soon as the ‘Rats get Franken out of the Senate the can go after - no not Roy Moore - but Donald Trump. The number of paid harlots that are going to come forward as being harassed, molested, raped, etc. by Donald Trump will number in the hundreds (slight exaggeration) but not until the ‘Rats finish setting the table (i.e. Franken and Conyers getting tossed). Once they think they’ve got the high ground ..... it’s about to get ugly.

He didn’t misunderstand. Having run the DIA for Obama OF COURSE he knew that calls to the Russian Ambassador were recorded, he’d used intel from such calls himself. He did what he did intentionally, and as he said today, he is willing to pay the price. The mission was accomplished.

Of course... Obama did all he could to make everyone accept Cubans and Russians, but back then they called it Raprochement, not collusion...

There are times that you have a man go over to the dark side and then awakens and seeks a personal redemption. Does this describe the special prosecutor? Could he have met with the Trump people and laid out his plan to bring down the criminal syndicate?

So...does Flynn’s plea deal get them any closer to nailing Trump for colluding with Russia? On the surface, it sure doesn’t look like it. For the first time I feel optimistic that this thing is about to end.

The FBI questioned Flynn on Jan. 24, 2017.
He denied he had asked Kislyak in the Dec. 22, 2016 conversation to delay or defeat the vote on the Security Council resolution.
He also denied that he asked Kislyak in the Dec. 29, 2016 conversation to refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions.
The FBI had him on tape before they asked the questions. Flynn should have invoked counsel rather than lying, that’s the crime.
All this Logan Act talk is a waste of time, it doesn’t matter anymore who, if anyone, authorized Flynn to negotiate with the Russians. All that contact would be perfectly legal if he’d waited until Trump was sworn in.
Kushner, hopefully didn’t lie.
After a year of fishing, after evidence of Democrats colluding with never-Trumpers to fabricate this meeting with a Russian woman who talked with Fusion GPS, and all they get is “in all our talks, we found a contradiction, testify for us or go to jail”.
