The former top FBI official assigned to special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election was taken off that job this past summer after his bosses discovered he and another member of Mueller’s team had exchanged politically charged texts disparaging President Trump and supportive of Hillary Clinton.
Peter Strzok, as deputy head of counterintelligence at the FBI, was a key player in the investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server to do government work as secretary of state, as well as the probe into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 election.
During the Clinton investigation, Strzok was involved in a romantic relationship with FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who worked for Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
The extramarital affair was problematic, these people said, but of greater concern among senior law enforcement officials were text messages the two exchanged during the Clinton investigation and campaign season, in which they expressed anti-Trump sentiments and other comments that appeared to favor Clinton.
Officials are now reviewing the communications to see if they show evidence of political bias in their work on the cases, a review which could result in a public report, according to people familiar with the matter.
During the Clinton email investigation, Page was a regular participant when Comey would hold “skinny group’’ meetings on the case — a small collection of advisers that gathered to address sensitive cases.
McCabe, the deputy director, has faced repeated questions from the White House and Republican lawmakers about whether he should have been involved in the Clinton case at all — given the hundreds of thousands of dollars in political donations made to his wife, a candidate for political office in Virginia, by a key Clinton ally in 2015.

And then he's involved in an investigation of Trump, a candidate that he clearly didn't vote for or support in the 2016 election and it is more than obvious that he did indeed support Hillary's campaign. His political stripe is obvious and his involvement as the lead investigator in Hillary's email shenanigans will need to be gone over with a fine tooth comb to find out if he indeed fully investigated the matter, and that he did not sweep evidence and crimes under the carpet during his investigation.

This is not original with me. El Rushbo posited it last summer as a possible reason behind HilLIARy’s use of a non-secure internet lash-up for classified info. Suppose she leaked the word out as to where unsecured U.S. Gubmint info was freely available to all, along with the banking number where to deposit the bribe money?

This story was leaked to the Washington Post by the Mueller people. There is no way to verify what really happened or why Strzok was really reassigned.
Page left in June. Strzok was reassigned in August.
Why are they only reporting it now?
When did Mueller and the Washington Post ever have a problem with someone being pro Clinton or a person being critical of Trump?
I doubt the story is accurate. Just more disinformation from Mueller and the media.
By taking control of the agency and hiring people exactly like this to subvert the agency.

They were engaged in an extramarital affair... They should both be investigated for collusion to thwart the investigation of Clinton’s emails... The Clinton’s likely knew about this affair prior to anybody else knowing about and she may have even been directed by the Clinton’s to find out information on the investigation through pillow talk.
There will obviously need to be an investigation of the investigators and their conduct.
