The mainstream media has been busy over the past year engineering the narrative that the removal from office via impeachment of President Donald Trump is almost inevitable. Although they have had a few bumps on the road to this possible future, which caused them to temporarily switch to removal from office via the 25th Amendment fantasy, their impeachment dream is back on track. This concept reached a fevered pitch last week on Friday when many liberals went into a state of ecstasy, most notably Joy Behar, over the fake news report by Brian Ross of ABC News about "candidate" Trump contacting the Russians which later that day had to be retracted.
Despite the many setbacks in the impeachment push, most liberals seem to continue yearning for it as if Trump remaining in office would destroy their souls. Tom Steyer even blew $20 million in impeachment ads in pursuit of it. Unfortunately for Steyer and his fellow impeachment demanding liberals, contributing editor (and very very liberal) Peter Beinart of Atlantic magazine has tossed cold water upon their future of impeachment on December 3 in 'The Odds of Impeachment Are Dropping.'

The left dialed in 11 before Trump was even in office.

As the article mentions, impeachment is a political act. They may get an article of impeachment but that is not going to lose President Trump any support. If anything it will make his base stronger. The silent majority may very well be heard from if they continue down this road.
I don’t know what the “odds” (Vegas?) are, but the reality that Trump will be impeached is ZERO!

As I just posted on another thread, If Russian collusion is a bust, they will simply make “obstruction!” the mantra. An it doesn’t really matter (to the dems) if Trump had the right to fire Comey, if they gain a majority in the house in 2018, they will push for impeachment - flimsy charge(s) or no.
And the MSM will back them up - bringing in all sorts of experts who will spout such nonsense as “firing Comey gives the appearance of impropriety, blah, blah, blah...”.
Such is the left’s hatred of DJT.

I’ve wondered about that too. If the extent of Mueller’s investigation is charging Flynn & Manafort for “process” crimes”, one would think that the the rank & file democrat would lash out at their dem leadership - as well as their leftist news sources.
Alas, the rank & file dem seem to be leaning towards becoming BernieBros...
Remember all of the hoopla surrounding the Birth Certificate? And how many times did FReepers think that we were "just THIS close" to showing BO the door? Heck Clinton *was* impeached, and still served out two full terms.
But, if they want to spend their time shouting at the rain, it's fine with me. While they're on useless errands, they're not spending time actually doing things that might be counter-productive to Conservatives' agendas.
Ross is a useful idiot to the establishment. ..they all knew full well that it is all bogus, but they are angling for impeachment. I expect Mueller to refer the conclusion that there was obstruction and hope that there are enough hard core ‘never Trumpers’ to make the impeachment charge. Then they will take their chances in the Senate. They figure to win either way, because if he is not convicted, they will at least send the message to swamp drainers that any resistence is futile and it will be dealt with harshly.
One day the Dems will again be in control of the House of Representatives at the same time there is a Republican President. When that happens they will vote Articles of Impeachment, not because this future President deserves it, but just because they can.
