No. They have their finger to the wind, and are following after the tide of conservative opinion in hopes of lapping up some falling crumb from their table. The RNC is hoping to curry some favor with Moore so as to draw him into dealings with them so they can ultimately paint him into a political corner and force him to vote their line.
