Germany warns US against recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital

German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel on Tuesday warned the US about the dangers of moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“Recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel does not calm a conflict; rather, it fuels it even more,” Gabriel said. “It’s in everyone’s interest that this does not happen.”

Despite widespread international opposition to the move, Trump is expected to recognize the city as Israel’s capital on Wednesday. A senior administration official speaking on the condition of anonymity told AFP news agency that the president would make the announcement during a speech slated for 1 p.m. local time (1800 UTC). But Trump will reportedly also sign a legal waiver that would delay moving the embassy by another six months. […]

In Europe, the US proposal has been met with skepticism and warnings. French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that he reminded Trump that the status of Jerusalem should be determined during negotiations for a two-state solution.

After meeting with US State Secretary Rex Tillerson on Tuesday, Federica Mogherini, the EU’s top diplomat, said any action that risked undermining efforts to restart peace talks “must absolutely be avoided.” …

ROFL!

I dont mean to be disrespectful to my Jewish friends by laughing at your post.

The irony made me spit my root beer right out when I read your comment!

On a more somber note, hard to believe that the sick bile that existed a little more than 70 years ago in Germany is all gone.

Grandfathers teach fathers and fathers teach children behind closed doors, what they truly believe in their hearts, whether it be good or dark.

That’s because Obitcher was pResident for 8 years bowing like a ####ing faggot to anyone he could.

Trump doesn’t bow.

He makes offers, in the manner that Michael Corleone might :)

We really need Germany’s advice on how we relate Israel.

“From what history I know, there is no way Islam has more of an interest in the city than Christians or Jews.”

Islamic interest was historically fleeting at best ... the claim that Mohamed ascended to Paradise from the Dome is patently false - it was a tale told to gain tourist revenue under the caliph who built the structure to keep his court busy.

When his court finally grew restless and bored, the caliph moved his capital back to Ammon, leaving the small village of Jerusalem to recede back into the dusty, goat-herding, backwater it was before the caliph came.

Fleeting.

Unlike Bill Clinton and George W. Bush I see Trump following through.

I believe it was Dershowitz on Hannity last night - when asked about moving the embassy to Jerusalem, he said multiple times it was the PERFECT response to what Obama did last year, abstaining from rather than vetoing a UN resolution vote condemning Israel.

Per the article, "After the vote, White House officials acknowledged on a conference that Obama made the decision himself after several rounds of discussions with top administration officials."

"Most of those critical of the move by the U.S. painted it as a stab in Israel's back delivered by Obama. “This last minute political maneuvering is shameful," said Ric Grenell, former spokesman for the U.S. Mission to the UN and a Fox News contributor. "It is inconsistent with the long standing U.S. policy that no country or organization should be dictating solutions on the two parties.

"Today’s abstention by the Obama Administration will make it harder to find a peaceful solution because it imposes outside positions on Israel without letting them negotiate directly,” he added.

Something like 54% of Germany's male population were casualties, on top of a not insignificant number of civilians lost. Like all of Europe, they were broken, seemingly irreversibly, by the war. The issue with Germany today is a result of, but not the same as, the issue with Germany in the past.

I'm inclined to believe the problem with infect and overcome the US before it ever came to another war with Germany, or any of the European nations in the same fix as Germany is.

Germany should not be offering opinions on what should happen to Jews.

There you have it, folks. The Eurpoean approach to muslims. Find some way to behave that doesn't make them angry and hope they will be nice. Sadly, everything fuels their anger so it never works. But anti-semites need to stick together I guess.

The German government has to play to their new muslim invaders, by opposing this effort by Trump. If they don’t the government will lose votes.

Zuheir Mohsen admitted all that back in 1977.
“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle (jihad) against the state of Israel for our Arab unity (Caliphate). In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism. Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity exists only for tactical reasons. Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a ‘Palestinian’, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine (all of Israel), we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.” …

— “We are only Palestinian for political reasons”, Truow, 03/31/77
And this is what the so-called European Union has been supporting all these decades. No reason except the old antisemitism, and revanchism over being kicked out of Israel in two world wars.

They’ve been doing this kind of thing before the big influx of Mahometans. Nothing’s changed.
