and make the unions collect their own dues on those that stay instead of the gov being their bag man

Take it a step further and DON’T allow the employee to make a direct payment to the Union.
Make the Union come and pick up the dues.
Ought to do the same with the withholding tax...Companies stop being the ‘debt collector’, give it to the employee and let him/her/it be responsible to give it to unka sugah.
