I agree with you. However, a lie - a falsehood - is a deliberate error. The media has been forced to correct their errors (deliberate falsehoods) at an increasing rate.

The media has been so effectively exposed at their game it is amazing. That which has been seen cannot be unseen.
They are not liking the consequences of their diminished power and influence.
