To: T-Bone Texan

I used to live about 100 yards south of the ruins in a house with an apple orchard. It is all gone now replaced by a trailer park.

I was there about 10 years ago, on a camping tour of the southwest, and I distinctly remember the crummy housing that almost directly abutted the ruins.

I remember having to drive past them to get to the ruins, and wondering if I took a wrong turn. the song “Lowrider” played in my head.

But the ruins were amazing. I felt honored to be able to see them.
