Top DOJ official demoted amid probe of contacts with Trump dossier firm
Fox News ^ | James Rossen

EXCLUSIVE: A senior Justice Department official was demoted this week amid an ongoing investigation into his contacts with the opposition research firm responsible for the anti-Trump “dossier,” the department confirmed to Fox News.

Until Wednesday morning, Bruce G. Ohr held two titles at DOJ: associate deputy attorney general, a post that placed him four doors down from his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein; and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), a program described by the department as “the centerpiece of the attorney general’s drug strategy.”

Ohr will retain his OCDETF title but has been stripped of his higher post and ousted from his office on the fourth floor of “Main Justice.”

Initially senior department officials could not provide the reason for Ohr’s demotion, but Fox News has learned that evidence collected by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), chaired by Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., indicates that Ohr met during the 2016 campaign with Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the “dossier.”

The linchpin to this case is whether that dossier was used to justify otherwise outrageously illegal surveillance.

Too bad the story is a light on the facts. It didn't provide a date when he met with Steele before the election.

Mueller may be working to expose these people

If so, then why is he wasting time and resources going after Manafort, Papadopoulos, and Flynn?

Demoting this guy does nothing to the swamp. Only termination and prosecution of these kinds of criminals would begin to help drain the swamp.

if you did not watch Jim Jordan this morning during the Wray hearings I highly recommend it...hinted everything that’s been suspected is true- the FBI used the fake Trump dossier to acquire FISA warrants to spy on Donald Trump...it is a must watch..

They can’t, It’s hard to fire a bureaucrat. I think I can see the strategy. First name and shame and move them to where they can’t do more harm. Once all gathered, they either all get fired, retired or put in a room with a simple desk, clock, box of pencils, yellow legal pad and no window.

I'm running out of room on the coup trap meme.

James Jordan today fired the big warning shot at Mueller and Comey. If Strzok was the one who managed the dirty dossier and then leveraged it into the FISA warrant, this is going to blow up like Watergate X 10. Jordan didn't just guess, he KNOWS.

Now it's game on.

Leave a window...on a high enough floor.

Thoroughly corrupt instigation/investigation.

And they protected Holder, Lynch, Lerner, Hitlery, and Obama.

This opens up a big can of worms.

I’d say by just the appearance, that certain members of the FBI were part of a plot involving the Clinton campaign and Fusion GPS to smear Trump with Russian “collusion” allegations.

What if the FBI was in on the creation of the dossier in order to justify outrageously illegal surveillance? That's what this is looking like.

I’m just guessing here, but they’ve got to follow procedures in the federal employment system. Some things require more proof or a sequence of actions than others. For instance, demotion can maybe be done by a boss, but firing requires demotion, putting a person into a different job, proof they can’t do it, etc. Of course they can fire someone for committing a crime but does what he did rise to that level in legal terms? The last thing I want to see is these partisan scumbags getting millions of dollars in settlements or lawsuits because their “rights” were violated.

Gotta do it right. Just do it!

Folks the Justice Department needs to be revamped from bottom to top. There has to be a way to find the honorable agents and keep them but it seems most of the problem comes from the higher ups and we need to clear them out!
The Federal Government because of lawyers and Unions are corrupt to the bone and this is what happens when folks cant be fired!
All of you folks that disagree when it happens to you it will be to late.I personally know of how it happens.
