Baseball players dont always go into broadcasting or managing after their MLB career is finished. Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Anthony Reyes took a different path, deciding to pick up a hose and become a firefighter in Los Angeles County. And as an L.A. County firefighter, hes now reportedly on the front lines of the California wildfires, working with many others to try and contain them.

This man and his brother have both been class acts. I can’t remember the older brothers name, but they both ended up pitching for the Cards. The older one when traded from the Padres had a charitible pledge for number of strikeouts to a San Diego charity which he continued to honor. Both showed high integrity while playing and as shows, still do. Cudos to the Reyes family
