The Nazis were the modern incarnation of the same old totalitarian control of the economy, the thought patterns of its denizens, and the perpetuation of rule by the small elite oligarchy, never subject to any input from its underclass or any criticism of its leaders or policies.
An early form of this kind of mindset is the ideology outlined in the Koran, supposedly the authority for all of Islam. They add the little extra of including a supernatural deity to give “moral” force to the edicts and demands of the elite group of leaders, who draw their “legitimacy” from being spokesmen for this rather petty and tyrannical deity, calling for either enslavement or death of those who do not accept the supremacy of that rather questionable deity.
