“I was so hoping the new FBI director, Wray, would not be the partisan hack that Comey was, but after seeing him clam up before the committee today, I’m afraid he may be.”

Director Wray did nothing wrong. He can’t throw his institution under the bus. He can’t throw his people under the bus.

He did the next best thing. He deferred and said the OIG is handling it. It’s the best answer he could give all around.

Wray will be picking up the pieces from the shattered agency and he well knows it.
Give him credit for sticking around which he should.

Wray also said something about FISA issues being discussed with the intelligence over-site committees at the end of the discussion when he was pressed on it. The committee chair interjected that the judiciary committee was the committee charged with over-watching the FISA courts, and that he better get copies of any documents going to the intelligence committee related to FISA, and that all his committee members had the authority to request information about any FISA request, such as who filed it, and what was the basis of the FISA request.
